Try Party Finder. It's not an ideal solution, but you'll get a group of people who will take it slow and steady.

That is just so dumb. Sometimes I wish XIV had the community base that XI had. In the 7 years I played that game I honestly cannot recall running into anyone who was just rude and obnoxious, unlike a majoity of the end game players in XIV. Its kind of sad :/

It does, the community is just more spread out with more new people peppered in.
You have the people from XI that thought that unless you played for a decade straight, you don't deserve to ever be on or close to the same level as them, but are very unwilling to help anyone, because they already did that, you should be able to get it done on your own. These are the people that complained that Coil 1-4 gear was the same ilvl as mythology gear, or that Tidal weapons aren't more powerful than Animus weapons.
There are the party finder people that put up stuff like, Ilvl90+, must have cleared multiple times, I will kick you for mess ups or because I don't like you. These are the same people that would shout for hours in XI, need paladin aegis/ochain only, 4 song bard, dd DREM only.
Can't forget a large part of the XI community, the RMTs well they have their spot here as well.

This 'argument' is a product of ill-informed people. ALL of the cutscenes are indeed in the inn's journal, but... it is split into 2 locations.
Main Scenario Quests > Seventh Umbral Era
Duties > Instanced Dungeons
Sarcasm aside, the problem was people can't watch cutscenes while in the dungeon. This solution allows them to.
