Good players will be able to glean information from a video, without being distracted by the fight itself. People CAN learn things from videos.Watching videos is worthless (especially Mr. Happy's videos--that guy has no idea what he's talking about half the time).
There is no substitute for experience, and too many people think online video "guides" are the be all end all of strategies. The only thing watching videos does is add confusion, since every party is made up of different people with different classes and different skill levels. More often than not I hear people say, "Wait, that's not what I saw in the video. What are we doing again?"
'Have you ever noticed that sometimes when you cry no one sees your tears, sometimes when you're sad no one understands your pain, sometimes when you're happy no one sees your smile, but you just have to fart once and everyone knows?'
And yet, I have, on multiple occasions.
An example, I knew how to dodge Divebombs and Twisters just from watching a video, minor things to be sure, but those weren't the only things either.
People have different learning styles. Watching a video may work for some, while hands on doing things is better for others. Please consult the following video to learn more about different learning styles before having a discussion about the topic:

No thanks. My only point was that some people can, against Eikiki saying it's impossible basically.People have different learning styles. I don't see how Mr. Happy's videos are worthless. Even if you don't find the commentary particularly useful, you're seeing the fight play out. It's considerably more experience than you'll bring into the fight having not seen ANYTHING of it beforehand. He attempts to make them more useful to new players by adding the commentary to explain things, but you don't even need that if you're just trying to figure out mechanics ahead of time by watching.
It's not for everyone, but it's something.
The whole game is about phases/rotation. Knowing the order of kill, the positioning, what ability to use, etc is all extremely helpful. Will you be able to one shot it or kill it quick if you watch a video? Nope. Does it speed up the learning process? Yup. Can players still suck after watching a video? Yup.
L2DEBATE!!!! There are many instructional videos, please look forward to watching one!!!
