End game is not different, you can expect the same occasional problems you may have seen in easier places. Most people are nice, polite and patient.
I keep wanting to level up one of the tanking classes. I have the gear and weapon for each class ready to go. However, the threat generation at lower levels is terrible. I never understand why devs think its a good idea for tanks to have to fight to control aggro. Are they thinking that using this method will teach dps to focus on marked targets? They are quite naive if they do.
When developing they should take the worst possible scenario and work up from there. A tank that focuses on one mob, where the dps all attack something else, who run ahead and pull because they think the tank is going to slow, even when they don't have any good AoE skills. With trying to manage damage mitigation cooldowns, keeping track of all adds, and positioning tanks shouldn't need to worry about threat management.
Both tank classes should have true taunts and good high threat aoe skills at level 15. I just don't think flash cuts it for Paladin, and Shield Oath should be removed and the extra threat built into all skills. I forget what the aoe and high threat warrior/marauder skills are. I know some tanks out there find all this easy, and props to them, however those people are not helping to resolve this problem. If they want more tanks, then they need to make tanking easier. period!
I've recently started tanking myself, and started catching attitude by the time I reached copperbell using the DF.
I just play with my FC members now, so I actually get to learn the dungeons instead of getting dragged through by i90s when I'm clearly lv20 >.>
The Daily Roulettes are great, but the gear discrepancy hurts the community a bit when hi-lvl players just can't accept that there are players trying to learn/practice, and in the end the attitude is keeping numbers low.

I'm currently piggy-backing MRD and WAR, I really enjoy them and I'm getting decent. The problem with lack of tanks is the idea of starting one, I think. I was initially intimidated by the secondary responsibilities, being the party "leader", knowing the dungeon routes and which mob to pull first. Communication fixed all that. For a game that's supposed to be MMO, people forget to talk to one another. I'd never stick with the classes if I was silent. Initiate party chat, ask questions, accept tips and criticism. If it gets too heated, others trolling, just abandon and que up again. Instant ques are awesome. Just keep at it.
There are plenty of tanks. Just most of us got an FC or a static to run with. We don't have to put up with all the garbage that pugs and DF bring. That's why there are few tanks in DF and PF.
Ya I just had my first time in The Lost City of Amdapor completely ruined by a bunch of jerks that think it was funny to let me run into a pack of mobs and die. I did end up reporting them in hopes that SE GM actually take action against them for ruining the dungeon run for me. I'm starting to see why most tanks are finding static parties over using the DF. I think that's why there such a huge lack of them participating in the DF is because were all frankly sick and tired of running into jerks in the DF and stricter punishment needs to start happening to those who are disrupting the play of others.
I think I will try to form a static to level my tanks. I don't want to deal with the hassles of jerks in DF, or I might go back to TERA or WoW.
The key to holding threat no matter what:
Step 1) Roll MRD/WAR
Step 2) Used Overpower 4+ times
Step 3) Press Z to sheath weapon
If DPS out gear you make sure to throw up Berserk before doing the 4+ overpowers.

I honestly don't know why tanks are so under populated. I think it has something to do with the fact that in this game people don't associate "tanks" with "thanks". If anything SE should be making the rewards better, gil, for tanks. I'd be spamming DF if the gil rewards for tanks was 10k.
More tank rewards = more tank retards. Please, SE, don't trivialize the job, let those who really want it and ready to challenge, shine.
