The roulette is not suppose to be challenging for geared people. It is just busy work for you to farm mythology/soldiery.
However, there are people that just hit 50 and don't have the gear. And this is the purpose of the roulette, for the more geared and experienced people to help and teach the newer people on how to run these dungeons.
I remember all the whine on this forum about people regretting ever unlocking PS and that immediatly RQd after it popped. I can tell you that there were RQing over that instance popping. Especially if someone was new.
Another reason why it is faceroll is that the new dungeons are on the same iLvl as the other ones in a world where iLvl90 is the new DL.

I would definitely like some harder 4 man content. I don't even know how people are having trouble with pharos when fights are easier to control when there's less people to mess up.
Or did not even unlock it. I did not run Pharos till 2.2 when I was forced to if i wanted the roulette bonuses for that set.
Friend never unlocked Mannor or Copperbell hard for the same reason. While these two areas were no where near as bad as Pharos they were still very hit or miss when it came to DPS that could actually clear the bosses. Basically another casualty of SE and setting iLVL's drastically to low.
My main complain is that there is nothing "Expert" about the new dungeons. They about as difficult as WP which is the entry-level dungeon. Heck, even the original Amdapor was harder. Actually scratch that, WP's tons could wipe parties, this dungeons are even easier.
Personally, I wish they kept the top roulette actually challenging and let the other dungeons be the myth/soldiery farm dungeons. Also, they should have just moved pharos into Expert roulette and changed myth/soldiery accordingly instead of nerfing it to hell.
I don't think roulette is supposed to offer much challenge exactly; it would actually be a terrible idea if dungeons were supposed to be farmed repeatedly (to hit weekly soldiery cap and load up on as much myth as possible for animus and other endeavors) and be especially challenging. I do think this game suffers from a lack of content that encourages, let alone requires, concentrated group effort. Coil is great and all, but with the weekly lockout most of your game time is probably spent capping tomes. Personally I think they need to have at least 2 active raids in the expansion (or sooner if they can manage it), if not 3. I don't really count CT as an active raid since it's designed to offer slightly weaker gear than the other after a 3 month delay.
Players didn't leave PS because it was hard. Other dungeons was just way more efficient which made PS obsolete.
