35 is over a month - to my knowledge anyway. If no one in your FC plays for over a month or visit and utilize it even once a month, it's a waste and exactly why SE is clearing out unused properties/lots.

No one gets 'boned", not big nor small FC - The only ones who "do" are the ones who don't use it beyond a status symbol. FC Houses, at least small, are in the 1-2 million or less range currently, one person could even pay for it if they're actually making gil, so "large investments lost" isn't anything, you don't already get your gil back and if you're not using the FC...

Yeah, so slightly over one monthly subscription fee. Hardly a long amount of time to take a break with your bros to go play a different game. And isn't anywhere close to having a dead FC that isn't playing the game anymore either. You shouldn't be punished for taking a short break to play a different game with your FC buddies. How is it a 'waste' to take a short break from the game with the intention of coming back? Your opinion of what a waste is or isn't can't really be quantified. It's no more valid than someone coming in and saying "Not using your FC for a week is a waste."

Your argument doesn't address how 90 days instead of 35 would be worse. At least 90 days coincides with their major content patches. If 90 days is way too long then it takes SE way too long to release content, by that same train of thought.

I am a little curious with 35 days. But 60 days is probably to long. Just step back and think of it from there plus minus perspective. They pay to maintain your house to some degree for everyone to at least see. Just as they pay to maintain the any tree stump in the middle of the Shroud. I can see and move around both.

So if 60 days is two months of subs. Then why could the time not be 58 days. To the people who get upset try to look at it reasonably. You haven't been a positive in there bank account for two months. They may hope you come back but they need to move on not expecting you.

Now on a slightly meaner maybe more reasonable thing, time should probably be twenty one days and returned gil and furniture to company chest. Or if people would prefer a voucher to be used on a new plot that would work as well, to be put in the company chest.

- items inside the house and what made the house would transfer automatically via company chest or something similar
- a deed to buy/purchase a similar plot type will be sent to the FC chest for when the leader/FC members comes back from their absence. This would solve the possible gil abuse that may come to light. the only thing they will lose is the picked land
- this way the land, to be more specific, the space is forfeit, open to be bought by a promising FC.

I don't know why people are so intent to punish a side just because they are safe and not in the danger that is being brought upon. There's a way that all sides can be happy. The above list will give a consolation deed for the absentee FC so the GIL SPENT won't be lost for nothing. The above list will also give the opportunity to give other FCs to buy that forfeit land. The above list coincides with SE's intent to conserve server space.

No one lost in that list no? No need to punish each side at all. Nothing lost because of an extreme rule as it is. The only thing lost is the previous FC's wanted location.

Well its good to see that some of the Japanese players aren't happy about this either. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...51#post2022251 this is the thread that got the original Dev response. The more I think about this the more it pisses me off. I guess I will have to pay FFXIV sub along with ESO sub when it comes out for PS4. Or I'll just have to find some people to invite into my FC just to use them so I don't lose my house.

I get the logic behind it, no sub = no house, which also means more room for other players to get the property and less need to expand servers.

Personally, I wish it were 60 days myself. I've had to be without FFXIV for a month do to an emergency, but thus is life.

Or just have one single, solitary person in your FC remain active and take two minutes of his/her time once every 35 days to click on a house and go in. Heck, the FC leader has to log in once every month to keep the FC in his/her name anyway.

So, if my friends and I decided we want to take a break for a month or longer and come back to the game, we'll find our housing gone (along with the furniture) and our lot forfeit, assuming this all is happening.

Yeah, the moment this happens is the moment Squeenix gets no more money from me for this game. Myself and two friends nearly bankrupted ourselves to earn our small housing and spent even more to get materials to make furniture to decorate said house with. If that gets taken away because we went on a hiatus to do other things, I'm ending my sub and I know they will too. This entire notion is completely stupid. Just add more wards like you should instead of cutting corners and shafting players who might later return to the game, should they take a break.

When did it become perfectly okay to have something that was legitimately earned through time and effort simply taken away from the players? I don't care if it's their game, that's just not a cool thing to do to a player or group of players. Plus, if they do it for this, what's to stop them from taking away anything else you've earned?
