Also, why would we go full Daystar and play "110%" when Daystar hampers our play by making heals more swingy and increasing aggro problems? You're telling people to play better by making suboptimal choices and getting over it.

This doesn't even make sense. The Cashmere/saurian set has a bunch of crit pieces.
So really what you're doing is losing a ton of mind and vit to meld pie on a bunch of stuff.
Did I ever even mention Cashmere?
What it boils down to is: if you aren't already capable of doing Second Coil for the High Allagan gear, you're shafted no matter what and will have to make some tough choices w/r/t gearing. My objection was to the sentiment of "The stats on Daystar don't matter! Just do better!" when the stats on Daystar (and Cashmere, and every other option we have) directly hamper a WHM's ability to "do better".

Having heals crit isn't going to give you aggro problems. If it does, get better tanks, their enmity should be so far ahead of yours that the occasional crit overheal will mean absolutely nothing.
You assume that I will always have access to tanks that are as geared or more so than me. Considering I will have to do things like roulettes, carrying people for leveling (or just new to the fights and/or lesser geared than me) etc etc every single day, that's an impossibility. I'd love to live on Ragnarok, where apparently there is no tank shortage and all of them are i110.
