    Greetings,

We looked into this because of the reports we were receiving, but we confirmed that there are no special conditions that need to be triggered for this FATE to occur. However, there is a limit to the number of FATEs that can be active at the same time within an area. Therefore, if you are waiting for a specific FATE to occur, please try completing the other FATEs in the area.

Trust me, this isn't the case so check again! I watched the cycle on my map for well over two hours before complaining which earned me a prompt GM response (thank you!). The fate for the Paladins popped several times, and for just under 7 minutes, no fates were active and that was after I waited over an hour for this one to repop. I know the exact time because I was, silly me!, waiting down in the giant area when it popped and had to make a run for it, and it completed just as I ran up towards the Stone Vigil entrance. Say what you will, this spawn time is borked!

This is a clear example of lack of knowlege & experiance with mmos from you guys!

IF you do that & you are far enough away. & a certain amount of players are there waiting. & it does not need to be many players staying waiting on that 1 particular fate. Then its over before you arrive back!
(This is common knowlege among most players who actually play, unlike the ones who "claim" they play but are none the wiser)

Another clear example is the fact your added a fate Again that doesnt regularly spawn.
(also common knowlege that this is bad after patch 2.1)

This is not a put down post. This is just the truth im not ammused & this is why post.
Really need to start thinking head! & Learn! from mistake &/or bad choices.

The only problem with grinding other FATEs while waiting for a specific one is that in a large area with only a single Aetheryte like Coerthas, if you're on the other side of the map doing a FATE and the one you've been waiting for pops, you're essentially screwed because the FATE will most likely be completed before you can run all the way there.

Even if I personally go grind out FATEs, the majority of the players waiting for my FATE are either lazy or scared that the lazy people will complete it before they return. Perhaps giving the Book an effect that, when the FATE in question spawns, gives you a prompt so you can decide whether or not you teleport to that FATE specifically when you're in the same zone until you complete it. This would give freedom to and reward those who would speed the process up for everyone else.

    Not only Seps

Everybody is talking about "Giant Seps" FATE, which is said to be "rare".
First thing first, Seps has never been as rare as it is now. And I've been FATE-grinding for a while, before 2.2.
It took me 4 hours to get this one. 4 hours of waiting in the cold breeze of Coerthas mountains.
And, actually, Giant Seps is not the only concerned quest : "Enmity of my enemy" FATE took me about 4 hours too, and this FATE is located in East Shroud, which means it is one of the FATEs able to loot an atma... And there were many people in here.
So this has nothing to do with "not enough people FATing" ... Please check the timer again... And if the timer seems to be OK, please change it, because after HOURS of FATing for atmas... waiting for about 8 hours just to make those two FATEs is not normal.

BTW, Knives idea, just above is just excellent !

That's no good solution and more a sub par workaround. I was yesterday waiting for a FATE, decided to clear the FATES around. Although I had the map open all the time and instantly left the FATE seeing the one I need has popped up, I did not make it back in time. Level 40 FATES and 30-50 players with Relict weapons = FATE over in 30 seconds.

You guys continue to follow a road that a good portion of your player base doesn't like. You introduced beast tribes and people complained about the FATE rotation. So you raised it and now they are more easily doable. You had quests where FATES were involved and people complained and you made adjustments.

Is it possible to see this as a general hint from the player base so we do not have to complain each time new elements are introduced? I do not like FATES at all but if you have to have them because it makes development easy and cost saving, make them at least so that as soon as they are needed for a quest, they pop up more often than normal FATES.

Waiting for FATES should only be needed if you choose to level with them. Regarding quests, this is neither a time sink nor a long term goal but annoying for players. Under the week, I have 2-3 hours to play per evening. I do not want to waste that time waiting in the Nowhere for a 30 second FATE to pop up. Is this so hard to understand? I thought you got enough FATE related complaints to stop or at least reduce quest design around them. But obviously not. So please look forward to more complaints. And zoom your camera out to the max!

I think the community has already established that the limit to the number of fates is NOT impeding these fates from spawning as the others are regularly cleared or time out. The issue is with the spawn interval of the particular Fates that are necessary for the completion of tasks in the Atma books. The special condition is apparently one that's been programmed into the game to limit the spawns to 4 hour intervals, which is a complete disservice to the gamers.

I've seen a trend that FATEs that normally don't get completed take longer time to spawn than those that are completed on a regular basis.
As an example, the FATE Taken in Southern Thanalan... I arrived in zone and /sh for last time it was up and it was up 30 minutes before I arrived...
Hearing others having to wait many hours for it to pop, I thought I was in for a long wait, but it was up again 30 minutes later.

The more people that completes the FATEs needed for the books, the better it is for people that haven't done them yet.

How can this possibly be true? For days I've watched everything but this pop (MULTIPLE times), even when there are no FATES to speak of in the zone. Even with RNG there is no way this FATE has the same pop conditions as the others in Coerthas. Even Four Winds has popped 3 times as I camp and write this.
