I have to agree.

I've been playing MMO's back since 1998 (EQ1) to present day. Most developers are not honest and up front with their playerbase. If Square says it's coming in 2.2, it's coming in 2.2. Or 2.3... The patches we get here are high-quality and please all styles of play. (See GW2 for crap filler patches)

I will be purchasing the expansion if this trend continues. I will also be telling all of my friends to try it.

EDIT: People really need to realize what Square-Enix has done. No other gaming company EVER has redesigned an entire game. This, alone, should really show you folks that they do listen. They could have just made it free to play with buyable upgrades... But they didn't!

Yeah, instead they made it a pay to play game with a cash shop with buyable upgrades in it, thanks a ton for that indeed.

On another note, I'm guessing most of you who are agreeing with the OP either never played 1.0-1.23 or played very little of it. Let me break some of it down, firstly the "million times better" some of it is better, some of it is the same, some of it is worse. Next for the, "high level of communication and honesty" it's pretty bad when I need a cryptogram key to solve some of their responses to the players when they "answer" questions that are asked as well as some of the broken promises that they have already gone back on (see the "goobbue mount only for 1.0 players, never to be seen again ever we promise" fiasco).

Not really trying to be an ass, but zero or next to zero research has been done by the OP. Either way I'm glad you are happy with the game, and I hope it gets better and better as time goes on.

Well, Duke Nukem 4ever was pretty close. I think it was cancelled and restarted 3-4 times over the course of 10+ years..
but yes, (I didn't play 1.0) but I'm impressed with the game, it managed to steal me away from a game that has almost 10 years worth of content (not WoW).

the argument falls apart when you realize there was never a "duke nukem forever 1.0" and the fact the final release was a huge letdown for the huge amount of hype it received.

but that is another argument for another time.
