The seal had a 50% drop rate then you had a 1/8 chance of it falling to you giving you a grand total of about 6% chance you will walk out with a seal which you need 9 of, each run took 25 min I always joined groups that got the gold chest. You were playing Hamlet wrong if you got that kinda drop rates for seals. (Should of made Militia Gear & achieve High Hamlet Scores)
No item in 1.0 had 1% drop rate and if it did you werent clearing the dungeons fast enough to boost drop rate like intended.
Make it sound like animation lock is a bad thing... made the game look and feel better then this spam fest we have now.
Relics in 1.23 were never made to be completed in a sitting and good deal still were able to obtain them back then even with the low player servers back then.
Spamming enter while watching tv has any of that really changed since 2.1?
You're complaining about poor drop rate on Hamlet. But to be honest, it was one of the few content that actually had the LS come together and work together to get something done. I remember I had asked the entire LS to be patient with drops and everyone to contribute and progress slowly together. In the end, 16 of us got relics in 1.0 which is no small achievement considering many players for the most part are not patient and only care about their own loot. 2.0 is missing this sort of element for an FC, the closest thing was maybe getting money for the FC House.

I hear you, Zumi, I wasn't a fan of fighting Ifrit a thousand times for Dark matter or weapons I wasn't looking for either. Lol.
I actually agree with your sentiments. I have no qualms with the direction the game is going, but then again, I'm not comparing it to something in the past or another product, but for rather what it is. I'm not interested in stuff that, reading between the lines, is a sheer time-sink anyhow.
Just the short of it in my eyes.
Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?

My whole LS quit 1.0 except me, due to very low drop rates, lag, animation lock ect, so I just joined shout groups for all content. People in my LS felt like they were wasting their time in 1.0. However they all came back for 2.0 and we been having a blast with the game, got coil 1-5 on farm, ex primal ect. No run a zone 100 times and not even get a get a darklight body or primal weapon like in 1.0.You're complaining about poor drop rate on Hamlet. ESO has gotten overwhelmingly negative advance buzz, and 1.0 was bad. So I think it would be best for Squenix to completely ignore any opinion the OP might have if they want ARR to continue being a commercial success.
Thats main problem of 2.0 is were already getting ignored. during 1.0 patches we actually were able to put in great deal of feedback on patch direction because it was in crisis. During 2.0 creation when 1.0 servers were offline we lost that and we currently have what we have now. If there was more feedback during 2.0 creation would of had a better game. Will see 2.0 lose alot of subs in the shortrun and devs dont want to say sub numbers until china gets the game so they can say its high again.

Got to ask, what was the game you guys came from prior, was XI or something to the tone of WoW? Because some of those complaints are understandable, like lag. But others sound like something that comes from the 'I want it NAO!' generation. Did you people not do your research before picking up the game, rarity/rng is a staple of the genre and hell we still have to deal with it in this game concerning Coil. There have been piece of gear that haven't dropped after farming the content for months. Does it bother us, a bit, but we laugh it off as RNG, because most of us have experience with the genre. We don't get pissy about it and leave over something mundane.
The thing that's going to influence my decision to keep subbing or not is the current state of content and whats coming up in the semi-immediate future, but sad to say, I'm one of those very unhappy with the current state of the game, it pissed all over my expectations. I expected improvements, not a damn copy of what's already available from many other mmos that are currently available both p2p and f2p. As it stands currently this game is going on brand name alone and lack of options for some folks currently (console players) and we'll see how this game retention is holding up as the new mmo's that are coming up are released.

Tobacco companies are a commercial success, even though as a whole they're not good for society, smoking can kill you and this is coming from a smoker. Just because something is a success doesn't mean i's great for the whole, look at WoW. It was a success and now its basically caused the genre to become stale because developers are too scared to stray from the 'norm' leading to little if any innovation and when a game does go for innovation it gets buried because people want the WoW experience without actually playing WoW.
What kinda content or improvements would you like to see in ARR? I been thinking of 1.0/2.0 cross over content that would work like a open world dynamis without any lockouts.
I call it The Gates of the Twelve. Basically use /praying on the 12 stones located in ARR. Each acting like gateway to 1.0 location thats locked in its own region where the 1.23b praying stones were first located. Each section is locked out so it fits in ARR map size style. Basically farm 1.0 beastmen currency in these zones and spend them at beastmen tribe locations to buy items that you cant with gil.
