Wow, props to Brayflox! Female pioneer, member of the Company of Heroes, and a beastman to boot! #WhoRunsTheWorldActually, Brayflox has always been, and continues to be, a lady! Looking into this more...I'm starting to think the Illuminati themselves were behind the original confusion!
Never fear, fans of Brayflox! This issue will be corrected in patch 2.2! We won't let the Illuminati hide the truth any longer!
Yhan, the White Viper.
Ha! Those crafty Illuminati and their shenanigans!Actually, Brayflox has always been, and continues to be, a lady! The Goblin economy is failing; Fantasia addiction is rampant and common. Underground Fantasia labs everywhere!!

A lady goblin, didn't even know those existed!Actually, Brayflox has always been, and continues to be, a lady! Looking into this more...I'm starting to think the Illuminati themselves were behind the original confusion!

Sweetnix is obviously the proof that XIV doesn't follow the naming conventions set down in FFXI.
I believe the gobbie genders could be told apart with the placement of the -ix, -ox , etc in the first or last name. Lady gobbies have the suffix in their first names (Brayflox Alltalks), whereas males have it attached to their last names (Mysticmaker Profblix)
You might want to consider reading the entire thread... That has already been addressed, which creates even more inconsistencies.
As a further addendum to Bayohne's post - Sweetnix is a most beauteous dude, and that mistake will also be corrected with 2.2.
While you're here, do you mind clarifying exactly how you can tell goblins from one another? I see plenty of information for the playable races in the Lore section but little on anything else.
