Why do people hate on tanky healers?

I ran with you doing one of the primal where you got the black unicorn. I think it was Garuda X. Don't think anyone really cared about your healing until someone checked your gear and pointed out that you were using tanking accessories. Then the complaints kept coming. Guess it was more perception then actual performance since we killed it anyways.

Aw man lol that was pricelessssssssss, some of them got so pissed that i got the mount on my 1st garuda kill lol.
Nah i agreed with the other healer that he heals MT = higher heals and i'll cover OT and party cuz some of the melee's kept eating wicked wheels/ tornados lol

^that's because you still have your accessories which give points to Mind. Some WHMs do that for Titan HM or T5. Sacrificing over 100 mind will hurt more.

To the OP, I respect what you're doing but I do think you need to put more attention to Mind. It's called a Primary stat for a reason With Cleric Stance, it affects our DPS. Those dogs in Pharos? I can Stone II / Holy them myself. Same with those Tonberrys in Tonberry King or the adds in Hauke Manor Hard. I often help DPS Demon Wall in AK and it's very possible to beat it before the bees spawn. Mind also increases the HP healed with Regen and Medica 2. With Divine Seal, my Regen and Medica 2 can reach 800-900 hp per tick, enough to save people and myself from those lazers in Ultima HM. With Divine Seal, my Cure 2 can heal 2.3k to 2.5k and almost 3kHP if it crits. It's saved me from having to depend on Benediction many times when I know a well casted Cure 2 can do it.

Just saying that Mind is an extremely important stat for healers. I highly recommend you do what one poster mentioned and use Astral / Rose Gold accessories instead and meld Vitality materia into them. You'll still have respectable HP while not sacrificing your healing output. You're already posting about how succesful your build is, just think about how much better it would be with improved healing.

Lol naw i bought the 1 with vit and slotted mind 4 materia on em or was it ? I dunno which ever was the highest cuz they r pretty cheap on my server.
Also y bother dpsing the adds in my current state? It allows me to just ignore them and dps boss down looool
Like i'm usually the only healer in df parties that say " just burn boss i'll handle or tank adds" they go okay cool" they burn the boss we win, easy lol
And in pharos sirius, when the hatchlings er... Hatch lol i just let them aggro onto me while dps and tank burn zu, since none of them die. Zu won't go ham and plummet 1 of the dps. I'm just like yea okay cool let that tasty barf spit hit my face and let them peck me lol. I'll just divine seal and heal away lol

Primarily because that's not our job (tanking) , it's not that bad as long as you know you can still heal and get through the run. (We’re not alone running dungeons and we actually don’t need to heal every time they hurt and sometime they don’t hurt at all) if you've cleared the dungeon like 10x +already if you’re still not dependable go play tetris or w/e.
We play how we want to play; it just goes negative when we drag others down along our game play surprisingly I haven’t seen any negative replies from the tank type healers it’s always “yeah I’m a tank type healer and I got through this and that” so I’m figuring ok that’s good. I’m actually not thinking too much of my gear atm , I’m at the point of the game where I haven’t done too much dungeon runs because of my intermittent internet connection so I just go level whatever I could to pass time.

Thats pretty fun to watch :^p
This proves that healers ( especially whm ) can do a dps's job while dps cannot do a healer's job.
Now i wonder how a party of 7 tanks and 1 healer would turn out? xD loooool
