No offense to anyone, but I was doing Titan EX on a Monday with 1-2 second freeze lag a literally every 6-8 seconds. Think I 90k'd 4 times that day as well. I was still the last one standing every time out of the party. Actually one time I didn't live, that was a 20 second freeze lag.. and not much I could do about that.. got a raise (was weird I died on top, so they raised, but lag knocked me off as well.. so I took raise at bottom and still was on top, LOL; just a funny story) and was still the last one up.
Point of all this is, while there is legitimate lag concerns, and bad positional checks on SE's part (ugh melee chasing), a lot of people's issues can be solved by learning rotations and pre-moving. I got out of plumes every time doing this, and I wouldn't even see the animation at times. Also, play at fullscreen in lower resolutions if you are having issues, I have helped many a people by telling them this trick, and they drastically improve for Titan EX just by doing it.
If you were doing it as a tank you get a little more grace if you mess up (high HP). It's caster's and those with lower VIT gear that literally can't mess up once. I've gotten the fight down but there's times you just make it out of a WOL and breath a sigh of relief... and suddenly you're dead. I agree with your resolution solution it does help!No offense to anyone, but I was doing Titan EX on a Monday with 1-2 second freeze lag a literally every 6-8 seconds. There definitely is some unfortunate lag that goes on in this game. I was doing Titan EX yesterday and died from plumes when I was almost at the edge of the arena, even the group I was with was laughing about how that was even possible.
Sounds like a L2P issue
Having a lag of 0.1s is not going to kill you, you need to lag more than that.
This is basically what our group says about this fight. Titan EM is not exactly that hard, the only reason it is so hard is that it's so unforgiving. If you lag even for a second (yes, a second, not 0.1 seconds) at the wrong time, you're going to die, and it should not be that way. Twintania is supposed to be harder, but if you lag for a second, Twin won't kill you.
Most of the time, I have no issues dodging plumes or landslide, but sometimes I can be out of those for one second and still get hit (And yes, I am aware of cast bars, they were at halfway). In fact, I have been hit by a landslide I was never inside of, it appeared in an area I had left a second before the cast even started.
Because Twintania doesnt have many AoE which are targeting the whole group at once, and Titan not only have one AoE, but 4... hitting all the time EVERYONE in group (because the one who dont avoid is dead meat)
Sure you can avoid lag issues by starting to move before the ability goes off - but that is just crap game design. Getting hit by an aoe attack when your screen shows that you are well out of range is extremely frustrating and not fun. Yoshi P. has mentioned the "fun" factor in many of his design decisions. It's time he looked into these timing issues to bring fun back into these encounters. Timing for AOE hits should be determined client side, taking all of the two way lag out of the equation.
