Gutted about the lacklustre quality of the PS4 beta

I watched a twitch stream of the PS4 beta earlier and even from that I could tell it looked stunning. Yoshi-p already confirmed the PS4 client is equivalent to max PC settings and in some regards actually performs better than the PC version.

I suspect you were ALWAYS going to make this post, and probably had it written and saved on your desktop weeks ago regardless of the outcome.

I don't understand... The are you comparing the Ps4 to a $1,000 dollar pc that can run this game at max settings or are you comparing it to a $400 computer?? ... I mean you DON'T have to play it in the PS4 you can just keep playing it on PS3 and if you buy a PS4 you can upgrade FOR FREE... so if you are complaining that a FREE upgrade game is not up to your standard ... You can op not to pay the monthly fee and play other games... SE has said that there are more plans to upgrade the game ... but if you think they are doing such a bad job ... you can always apply to take over SE and see how that PLAYs ...

Personally, I found the PS4 version to be a great upgrade from the PS3 version. The graphics are beautiful and the controller just feels more in tune to me than the PS3 controller (although I am missing my texting keyboard that attached to the controller). It was an extreme joy to play without getting trolled by tells from RMTs although I'm sure that'll be short lived. I took this as an opportunity to start in a different city-state and see a different part of the story.

Also, it was quite hilarious to see mounds of people fighting over kills on the LVL1 monsters today...and how empty some of the other areas were allowed me to see just how beautifully designed the game is (Wineport has some amazing views when you aren't being yelled at to join a Coil group and Fallguard Float is gorgeous too).

It could be worse... be glad there's no xbone version that is rendered at 720p.

I'm curious what's the OP's PC hardware spec she is comparing to the PS4.

I have a very expensive PC where the hardware specs are about 3 times faster than a PS4. It's not comparable to a PS4 because of the price difference. The average consumer can't afford it.

I haven't tested the beta client myself as I'm a high end pc gamer for XIV. I'm just curious what the gripes are that the OP has. From everything I've heard, the only thing wrong with it is the frame rate.

the technical specs of the PS4 are at least on par with the recommended system requirements for the PC version.
based on the assumption that players should be able to play the game on high/max settings with a recommended build,
i don't see why the PS4 version should perform worse.

The PC WILL ALWAYS surpass console in performance and quality, the PS4 version is much better than what you can get on a PC with 400 bucks. The comparison would be more fair to the PS4 if you went out and bought a PC for 400 dollars and played this game there.

So yeah, you got the best you can do with this game on a 400 dollar rig.

If anyone already has pc that plays this just keep using that then... this game on PS4 looks great to me someone must drunk or something. And i didn't only get a ps4 to this game!

This has been my experience, no idea what the OP is talking about to be honest. It seems to perform about as well as my PC, if not a little smoother in crowded towns. Considering it's on a console it's just beautiful, a pretty big step up form the PS3 version. Only problem is the total lack of UI scaling options, some of the text is very, very small.
