I very much wish that they wouldn't revert the changes to turn 2 myself^^
Haha this is just too funny. Especially after reading some of the responses in the other T2 thread and now this :3

If it weren't broken, they wouldn't be experimenting in an effort to fix it. The fact that they did not intend to release that fix in this patch doesn't change the fact that they've acknowledged it to the point of experimenting to find a way to make it more challenging. Honestly, I hope they keep it as is because the method is now viable, since it can be done with adequately geared healers but those guys who've been running it in ak gear because it was so easy originally will now be filtered out.
How did twisters work before the nerf? I've always wondered this, and since you're in that BG world first vid, I can trust your info. Were they able to spawn anywhere your character walked during the cast time, including your final step?
Most attacks have a red circle that you have to move out of, old twisters essentially had a circle that you had to stay within. There was still the mechanic where it would drop the green twister and you had to be out of it, but you also couldn't run in a straight line from where you started.
The twister would drop at around 80% of the cast bar, so some people could happily just side step at the end of the cast bar but the most reliable was to run in a small circle/square that you see me doing in the video. The twister now drops at around 60% of the cast bar and is much easier to dodge, the maximum movement range is all but gone (i think you can still trigger it if you hit sprint and run in one direction)
Back in September when I worked out the twister mechanic my thought process was
This can target the tank
The tank is unlikely to be expect to move very far as this would disrupt the flow of battle
Try making small movements -> somewhat successful
Try making a consistent movement within a small area -> 90% + success rate.
To a point having the twister drop at 80% also invoked a certain amount of unluckyness with the old positional updates being every 0.3, the new 0.15s updates would have made the old twister mechanic much more manageable.
Here is a video I made for my FC during progression to teach people how to dodge them
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEeiyboAydI
(in the kill video my favourite part is when the OT died and I had to stun the DK, dodge a twister, Take a death sentence, re-stun the dk and then get back in position. I was sweating bullets.)
Uploaded sep 26th, first kill oct 26th, yes it took a long time for some people to be able to dodge consistently. I would add that the Healer PoV for the video was the second most consistent twister dodger after myself and that was pretty unlucky for him!
