What do you really need gil for at the moment.

Everytime I read rmt shouts and tells, I ask myself after blacklisting them.

So who buys gil, and what are they using it for?
SE even stated that they will look closely where gil came from for housing, so I rule that out.
Buying Crafting materials? I spent 300k on Carpenter 20-50 and earned 350k just by handing in the leves and selling the rest on Marketplace.
Repairs? Normally competition of Dungeons gives enough gil for that.

Buying gear on Marketplace? Apart from "rare" drops that can be sold like coliseum gear and such. As soon as you want to go endgame nothing crafted (at the moment) is worth it to take over Darklight and even less than Mytho or Allagan stuff

So, what is the deal? Am I missing something where I can invest my gil? Or are the RMT just for people that feel the need to have maximum possible gil, just in case they need to buy every HQ vanya they can find for god knows what?

ATM Gil feel to me about as useless as Orobon livers.

A month ago i was wondering the same thing, what am i using my gil on and how much does one actually need to survive. So i kept 5k on me and tossed the rest on my retainers. One month later i am at 11,550 gil, and that's with Only doing the 6 dailies, running coil and capping myth every week. Haven't touched my crafting or gathering in ages because there's nothing worth farming/gathering/crafting anymore.

They destroyed crafting and thus made gathering nearly absolete, yay me for having all my jobs lvled in 1.23 hoping it would put me ahead of the crowd, leveling the jobs is now just way too easy.

Gil is useless, so anything you leveled to make gil is pretty useless now too. Ofcours

Check my lodestone page and look at the Gryphonskin Ring I am wearing, and please again tell me that it isn't better than Darklight accessory.

It costs quite a bit of gil to make that, and it has been worth it. It probably won't be useful for too much longer with new ilevels coming, but it has been until that. I can't bring myself to replace it. Even ilvl 90 ring doesn't match it IMO.

But I guess right now it doesn't make much sense to do that, seeing as how we will have new gear at the next patch.

Not so much about what you can buy with gil now.

But i rather have a few million gil the day something DO arrive (like housing but maybe not that expensive) that is worth spending gil on.

Personal housing is gonna be one of those things.
