There is no reason to make gil at all in this game as you wont use it for anything anyway.

I am sorry. Many, many of us feel the same. Give a search through these forums.
*Look forward to it. After 50 the real game starts and then apparently the Real Fun, rewarding, fulfilling, satisfying content and a strong economy filled with competitive pricing on crafting ingredients and materials. Oh, wait. That might come if you are hopeful in another two expansions or so. Be hopeful.
...and from the Gridania forest mysts proceed the souls of warriors and heroes; among which I am honored to serve as part of the One.

nope, because people are only buying and selling to save up for a house. No one really buys equipment to wear, all the good gear drops from CT, Coil, and currency items.

I make 50-75k a day off the same 3 craft (HQ them all) and it not Star crafts. That is just my day to day crafts.. on weekends i go all out on crafting and sometimes make 150k+ easy. All my crafts are below 1000Gil (300-800) and I'm not even the top gil farmer on my server or FC, I know a few ppl that make 2-3M a week. But my point here is you need stop thinking BIG and start looking at the high end as 500Gil to 1k not 5k-10k each... Rosegold/Darksteel craft are 30-40k each on my server and your lucky to sell 1 craft 1-2 times a week, I make more gil off crafting mats HQ then the Crafted Item it self. and there are 100s of mats to HQ and sell on the AH. For me i make 700-1.3M a week when I my crafts everyday.
So just look for craft the sell for 300Gil to 800Gil each and sell in sets of 3-9 there are many, As a FC Learder and have a L-House I know it works ^-^

I wish there was but if you look at the AH there's not really a working system for that to be even possible.
Gil in this game is pretty optional since after 50 all crafted and tradeable gear goes out the window and frankly before that there's no need to throw gil to your equipment.
I'm currently leveling Carpenter in my briefs...

The real gil in this game is to be made on Yellow Yarzon Legs. True story!

There are so few buyers that pretty much every time you find a market that you can make money in, that market is flooded and destroyed by the end of the week. Spread out your crafts and be willing to research what is selling. I don't see the market bouncing back any time soon with overpriced housing. Also didn't help when they started giving out rare materia to everyone for free. Most markets rely on other markets to a degree so it just continues to collapse.

I make good money keeping a excel spreadsheet of the MB everyday. Comparing the BTN and various other items that either sell well or can be crafted into something else to sell well. There really is no "dungeon" super grind-able mega money right now unfortunately. I know people who invest in the MB and make millions a day. Just takes time.

It's not that they made crafted gear below raid gear... it's that there is myth gear of higher ilvl than the crafted pieces. Raid gear should be better than crafted stuff; you have to work for it. When you can just farm tomes to get gear of equal ilvl as the actual raid gear, and it's better than what you could have crafted, that is when you have made the crafted gear pointless.
