Is there anything worth farming in this game?

I played FFXI on PS2 and there was a ton of stuff to farm. I had a PLD and I use to make all kinds of gil. I made a PLD in this game purely for farming. But so far I haven't found anything worth farming. It either sells for pennies or it doesn't sell. Is there anything in this game worth farming? Gathering for gill is boring to me and not only that a million people are doing it and most stuff sells for pennies.

Nope everything is blue collar work as far as farming goes. Even with all craft/gather class maxed.

This game needs a reason to make people explore the open world its not going to survive on fates and instance grinding alone. People need a reason to adventure, that's what kept ffxi alive for 10+ years!

It depends on your server; some hunted mats are worth more than others. Problem is.... You start giving out tips on what sells well, everyone and their mother runs to sell it, everyone undercuts each other, and then that item becomes worthless. Can't even make a good profit on materia anymore. It's sad.

simple answer, yes.

check your MB and see what sells high and often. gather those but be careful not to flood the market. if you do others will swoop in and undercut it to nothing.

At the moment...pretty much nothing sells well, unfortunately (at least not on my server). There's not a lot that people need in terms of crafted gear thanks to the decision to make crafted gear below dungeon gear in quality. As a result, gathered/farmed items are only useful for people leveling their crafting classes. And thanks to everyone starting to buy houses now, everyone's holding onto their gil rather than spending it to save for a house, as well as undercutting by absurd amounts out of desperation to sell to a market that isnt buying.

Something I used to farm that was normally 700-800 gil each, dropped down to 500, then overnight dropped to 200. I dont even want to think what it is now. Likewise all the foods I was selling for good amounts only 2-3 weeks ago are now at best only a quarter of what they were then. Hopefully when the housing rush dies down, people will be willing to spend again.

I make good gil every day with gathering and crafting, but I won't say how. Just research your MB everyday and get to work.

This QFT. is the sole reason why you can't make gils.

Depends on what you deem 'worth it'. You definitely can't make as much Gil as back at the start, selling a philoitem for 60k+.
Think about what people might want, what did you want when you were leveling or do right now? Scout your market, get the items, sell them, profit. ;P
