To all FC Leaders....Can you Help me PLEASE! (^.^)

I really hope that you will be able to help me with my problems, maybe some of you got same as my. Im simply out of ideas and dont know any more what to do!


Ive joined FF14 at the release of FF14 with some of my close real life friends. Together with them, we made FC for casual gamers. It was really fun our company was never big it was from 22 members, at this time we met a lot of friendly players, we helped each other, we did questing, dns, we helped each other for crafting. As long as people wanted to do something together if no was really fine too, after all we wanted that everybody plays as he/she wanted, there were no set rules and every one could use all the features of the company. Also on the way i met a lot nice people and we became friends.

Here is the thing after patch 2.1 everything, went down hill ! Some of my real life friends quit, a lot of members simply didnt joined anymore others toled that they quit! I can give you the reason witch are from fiasco with FC Housing prices to lagg issue etc. but thats not the subject now. So basically is only me left and 3 more people. The people in my friend list , most of them are gone too !


From this point i was trying to recruit new members, to rebuild the community and nothing is working from what i tried until now. Ive tried shouting, talking with people, putting party with info in the PF, i also put a thread in my server forum that im recruiting. None of them really works. The little people came in the company said its ok that we are so little and will be happy to help me rebuild the company. They play for one day, after that i dont see them 2-3 days and all of a sudden they left the company with no words.


Please help me, am i doing something wrong, can you give me some advices and suggestions!

I am a FC Officer and I see and feel where you are coming from. Most everyone in the game has already joined a FC and so withought "Stealing" members or absorbing another FC all you will be able to do is grab new players. I would really think about just joining into a Larger FC unless you are really patient and want to see it through. We have had a hard time recruiting as well and are doing everything we can right now. We are a decent size FC and it is really hard to grow. Just post advertisement everywhere you can think of that playerw would visit who play the game and that is all you can do. Set up a macro to spam out your FC and run it while you are in game every so often to try and snatch up some players.

As a guild leader in other games i know how hard it can be to keep recruits coming in. Different things bring players "into the flock" so to speak. Maybe you can find another FC that is lacking leadership and get them to merge with your FC. Either way I hope you continue to enjoy the game ^^ Good luck!

A lot of the people that tend to stay longer are people that are referred by other people. My only advice is to always recruit potential members + friends + friends of friends because the retention rate is usually low. Having said that, obviously just mass recruiting doesn't work. Just shouting in town about what your FC is about doesn't work either. You need to show your commitment by helping people out, helping your own members out and start to build a reputation on the server. Most people that I have recruited randomly since 2.0 are gone, and the people that are left are from 1.0 or people that know each other. If you are really having that many issues, I would suggest joining a larger FC just to meet other people and see how things go from there as well.
And one piece of advice I would always keep in mind is to never expect any member to always be there in the future be it friend or family. And also don't take it too hard on yourself when people leave, it just happens.

I run a FC on Balmung and I find that helping people that are shouting for help is a good way to get members. I've absorbed an FC that didn't have people to kill Titan and were shouting to buy wins. I offered to Kill Titan for free. Started conversation about why they didn't have people or help and they ended up joining my FC. Granted this was a very small FC of 8 members but if someone is shouting for help cause no one in the FC will help them they might come join you. As I see it a FC is there to help each other out and do things as a group. So I don't like to see FCs full of people but they don't have active members or they will not help the lowbies. Just offer your help and people will come to you. Easy way to get members!

Indeed this is how i met most for my friends in the game, by helping them.....very often i help players in the game especially the low lvl players after all we high lvl exp palyers we should help the others in order that they will be able to enjoy the game better and besides like so you can meet a lot of nice people I met one of my closest friends in the game by starting doing emotions to one another

I know very well that people wont be allays there after all this is a sub game and just like me they also have real life, to study or work etc.
The main problem im having is that shortly after players join in my Company they leave! And they dont say a thing why, they are simply gone. When im there i allays ask if someone need help but the new members allays say is fine, even first thing when they come in im telling them if they need any help or want to do something together to simply to tell me or the others witch are on and will help them imidiatly, that was one of the main reasons why i lvled my Crafter classes to lvl 45.

This is the thing i really dont understand, is it me or am i doing something wrong

Here's my honest suggestion, at this stage of the game you have established FC's and new ones. New ones will be small and very very likely stay small, established ones will likely maintain the level of people they have give or take. Your best bet is to find like minded FC's and merge. If you only have so few left anyhow you could also just establish yourselves in a new FC entirely and abandon ship. The problem is with only 3 or so members a merger is going to be hard, nobody wants to merge into a 3 man company and getting people to join on an indidvidual level is going to be that much harder as well.

I would honestly just talk with the remaining members and find a new FC together taht you can all feel comfortable in.

as casuals FCs doesnt help you by the time you hit endgame contents as you will look for EXP players there

im endgame FC leader while we are 45 members but all are the finest players in the server

If you ask me FCs right now are completely unnecessary. Being a 1.0 player a FC is more like a glorified 9th LS and really has no real benefit to it, sure you get some buffs, cheaper teleports in the area of your FC and a house, none of which though are really needed. However, since I just started a FC on my alt I feel that the biggest problem is that FC can hold 512 members or whatever it is, which in some servers is a ton of players. I feel FCs should be smaller than LS, because LS are social whereas FC should be smaller and have more of a tight knit feel to them. Also, server restrictions do not help the situation with the insane amount of members a FC can hold. As stated earlier in this stage of the game though, much like content is being cannibalized so will smaller FCs because there is really no room to expand since most players are content with whatever FC they are in.
