Freeze/Crash & BSOD issues

I have the same issues, since end of december I cant play FFXIV: ARR more than 10 min before getting a blue screen however I can still play any other game without much problem

To describe the issue, my game freeze with a lot of yellow artefacts on the screen, especialy when i move or sometime when i fight and there is a big explosion (destroying an amalja big torch for exemple), then my game freeze. 2 scenarios after a freezing,I alt+tab and wait the game unfreeze, or my computer crash with a blue screen.

I tried a lot of nvidia drivers but nothing changes

I am on an asus g51 laptop:
os : windows 7 64bit
graphic card : nvidia gtx 260M
procesor : i7 q720 1.6ghz
ram : 4go

Since there is more than 50 pages talking about that problem, is SE really looking about a solution ?

Again BSOD playing FF XIV.. I have all kind of problems with the game.. add now Latency and Lag issues since 1 week ago.

SE need to do something.. I can play anything else but if I play FF XIV for a couple of hours I have a really high % of getting a BSOD. I was free of them for almost 1 week but again and only playing this game.

Artifacting is a sign of overheating or a failing GPU. 260M is a 1GB GDDR3 card. I'm impressed it can run XIV at all. I've been receiving Bsod very frequently usually only when I am playing this game. It always says something about a memory dump. My specs are

Amd FX 8350 4ghz 8 core processor
Nvidia geforce gtx 570 1.2 gb
8gb ram

I'm thinking it might be my ram since it's ddr3 1333 and I heard that is the bottom of the barrel. Anyone's advice or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Been following this thread since day one. I was having these same issues, until i built a new machine, not ONE issue since (same operating system btw Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit). Now, I know it's not all hardware issues here, but I believe some are being caused by faulty RAM or GPUs, or other hardware problems. This game does call for a ton of GPU usage and could have caused failure where other games are not.

I think people that have not tested, should at least try and troubleshoot their hardware.

Still crashing with my ps3 and the same with my brothers. I'm not sure what SE is doing to resolve this issue but it isn't happening soon enough. I have reported this issue months ago and it is still happening. I find that very unacceptable since this only happens on this game. I have played other MMO's on the same ps3 and never had this issue, and those were free to play. So why am i dealing with this on a 15$ a month sub game? I'm very frustrated over this situation since it seems to be getting little to no attention @ all.

So, your PS3 is crashing when playing? When you boot back up does it do/say anything? If your fan ramped to full speed? Does it stutter, lag, black screen before it crashes?

I've been getting this issue now for about 2 weeks. I had it previously but it stopped randomly. Getting real tired of it too. I've done the following:

Replaced the video card (GeForce 760 to an AMD R9 270X)
Reinstalled windows completely
Rolled back my computer to when it wasn't happening (seems to fix it for a day)
ran full hardware checks
lowered graphics to high desktop from maximum

It only seems to do this in FFXIV, BUT after FFXIV causes a system crash OR reboot (it's done both), my system will sometimes freeze up one more time right after rebooting and before I launch FFXIV.

I'm running FFXIV on an SSD drive. Think that might matter?

Also I am wondering if this has something to do with nvidia cards only? has anyone got this on a Ati card cause I would like to know. also download whocrash and post the crash report if I fixed mine maybe I can read and see if I can give some insight.

Nope, I had an NVidia card and I replaced it yesterday with an AMD. Same problem.

I'm having this nVidia driver crash for months now, upgrading or downgrading drivers doesn't work. Tried several gfx settings, didn't work. I've played for an hour in coil t4 today, I crashed 3 times. Every time i crash, my sound cracks, my screen goes black or show a lot of gfx glitches. Windows is trying to shut down FF XIV. The thing is, it's the gfx driver that crashes, meaning anything gpu accelerated doesn't work anymore, I can't even browse websites. I have to reboot my system in order to do anything again.

This has been going on for months(!) and has come to a point I'm even considering buying a new gfx card while my card can run this game on (almost) highest settings prefectly.

I have a GTX660 Ti OC from Gigabyte on a Win7 64bit, current driver version : 332.21
Soundcard : Creative Soundblaster Zx

Really getting on my (and my LS/FC's) nerves!

Has there been any feedback on the nVidia issues from SE ?
