    My situation is not atypical and my lag is not bad (15 ms ping to the server) Upload a video of yourself instantly (or at least within a reasonable amount of time) cancelling casts by moving. I would absolutely love to see it. I've been playing since the 2nd beta phase, this issue of movement lag has been around since then and despite tons of people claiming that it is non-existant I have never seen one video that proves that this issue is client-side. I've played this game with tons of people on tons of different ISPs and the issue has persisted every time.

    Yup, casts can't be cancelled instantly by moving because there is a built-in positional delay. That's why so many people have trouble dodging AOE's

    It has been reported that they experienced an increase in the sales of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn which played a major role in the improved revenue.

    Based on the forecasts put forward by Square Enix, the company will record a yearly income between ¥3.5 billion – ¥6 billion ($34.6 million – $59.2 million) for the year ending March 31, 2014.

    Some of the major reasons for the positive expectations are the release of Bravely Default and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 in the western market along with Tomb Raider Definitive Edition sales.
    Who knows what they'll do in the future, if it retains its popularity they might be kind enough to open a few more datacentres or fork over a few hundreds thousand dollars to replace some of the older hardware in the future.

    But that doesn't fix the niggling issue that some players don't understand that between Them > Server, things can go wrong and it's very easy to point the finger at the source and expect them to fix it.

    Nice try but your premise 1 is false - P does not imply Q: it is entirely possible that rubbish servers used by SE create problems for SOME people SOME of the time.

    What? I'm not denieing that people have problems and other issues. I just don't think that GIF is a fair indication for the problem people experience. Normally a landslide stays longer on the ground. Given how quickly it disappears is enough reason to believe that the client is currently catching up with the delayed information(best described as "fast forward" effect). Which means the person is lagging(bad connection) and that has nothing to do with Yoshi's IT issue.

    There is way too much name-calling and bickering here. The issue is simple: Level3 Communications is doing a shoddy job.

    Anyone who's worked IT would know this is pretty standard. Level3 is a garbage company offering garbage service. The particularly awful part of this is that there is nothing we or SE can do independently.

    SE doesn't work directly with Level3 nor do any of us. It is up to our ISPs and the SE datacentre ISP (likely Bell) to put pressure on Level3 to fix the route. And it is very, very difficult to communicate that.

    I'm sure anyone who's dealt with one company through another has experienced this. "No it's their issue" is the easy thing to say to get you off of the phone and to dodge ownership of a trouble. It will take ISPs from both sides to actually fix this and I don't see that happening.

    The tracetests show that there is something odd happening at Level3. If it were possible to actually speak with Level3 as a consumer this may be able to get fixed faster but when you have to work through your own ISP to do so it's going to be worse than pulling teeth.
