Dear Yoshida-san, Housing Prices and a proposed Multiple of 4

    Dear Yoshida-san,

As we approached the 2nd month mark of the 2.1 patch release, I would like to reinvigorate the FFXIV community’s request for lowering the current housing price.

On my server, Cactuar, there is not even 1 Ward that is half full. Maybe if all the FC houses purchased at all 3 nations were place in 1 Ward it might filled up 1 ward.

So I make a new proposal:

Have houses for Free Companies set to a flat unchanging rate and increase each price by a multiple of 4. So, I propose the following:

    Small - 3 Million Gil
    Medium - 12 Million Gil
    Large - 48 Million Gil

Even with this price adjustment my FC would still be about 30 days off at our current rate of saving Gil to purchase a medium house.

    Sincerely,

    Pyrinna Dox, Summoner, Cactuar Server

Good luck, I wish they would take your suggestion.

Sadly, every server economy is a prime example that SE is absolutely clueless about fostering a market that is capable of supporting housing prices.

The only way to get a large house in a reasonable amount of time is to sell primal runs or have saved up large quantities of gil from the early 2.0 market.

This would be a great idea and hope they read your post OP, but there is one thing i have noticed, those FC's that have managed to save up and buy a home are all a tight knit group of player...everyone is pitching in, if you are in an FC where only a handful of players are only pitching in and no one else wants to it really becomes almost impossible to earn enough to buy a home.

My FC for example...there are only a few of us that are pitching in every week as much as we can, the rest for whatever their reasons have not, some have even come to the conclusion that at this rate we won't be near to buying a house for our FC anytime soon so they actually said that they will not help and would rather hold on to their gil for when personal housing is introduced for their own home, i have talked to other players from other FC's and they mentioned the same thing, kinda sad really but there it is.

I am 100% in support of this idea (full disclosure, I'm in the same FC as Dox). To speak to Nici's point, which I think is a good one, the problem we have is that we are a smaller, casual FC. We have a coils team worth of dedicated players who are on a lot, and contribute gil constantly, and the newer members give what they can, but we don't have the level of skill that some other (even small) hardcore FCs have. So regardless of being tight knit, playing a lot, etc., S-E is effectively saying that because our skill level isn't high enough to sell extreme primal runs or carry people through Titan, etc., we don't deserve a house., and that's a real shame. This could have been a real opportunity to bring casual FCs closer together, and it's been wasted.

From what I've observed, company housing goes with an active FC that is willing to work together. It's also why rank 6 is required to purchase a house. Leaderships should really set an amount as weekly/bi-weekly/monthly "FC dues" and have everyone pitch in.

There's also no doubt that furniture prices will explode when personal housing is implemented.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

The only thing that will fix housing is allowing Legacy players to transfer into Non-Legacy servers. I guarantee you, the housing "problem" is not a problem on all servers as Ward 1 in Mist is almost full on Couerl. The most expensive house was already bought and there are two Med houses available which are not in very desirable locations. Other servers are also experiencing steady growth in their neighborhoods.

The really problem with housing is that Mist is just too nice compared to the Lavender Beds and the Goblet. Limsa is already popular for crafters to hang out, soon Gridania and Ul'dah will be completely empty.

We just bought our house on Ragnarok server.. paid 3.2 mil I believe? That's just for the plot. add another 450K for the actual deed to the house so 3.65 mil; and after furnishing it,I'm really happy with the choice we made being a small FC of 13 people now. The only thing that concerns me is if we're gonna have to pay for the basement upgrade or it will be automatically given to the small house owners.. really don't wanna farm for a long time because of how bad the markets are right now..

My Hope is that the FFXIV community would encourage SE to change this.

To be honest I would have preferred a housing system with an easy entry point that allowed expansion to larger houses with more benefits. Currently now there is no way to recover your Gil for the purchase of a small house and apply it towards a medium or large one.

I have been in the small house and for our FC size it would be way to small. I know SE has plans to add the basement to the small house, even if this is the case and the ground level stays the same its the perfect size for Individual Housing and NOT FC housing.

Hmmm...the way i wish they would have done it is if they let you buy the lot and standard small home...from there you could add "upgrades" to it, add rooms and extensions to the home, lets say the next upgrade extension to the home would cost a set price...then the next would cost a little higher, the next a little higher still...etc etc.
