I have a friend that skips ALL the cut scenes. Is he insane ?

My friend has not watched one cutscene since buying the game. HE Doesn't know what the name of the planet is. he doesn't know what a primal is.. or who the bad guys are.

He just kills. kills.. kills.. waits for more targets to kill.

I try to talk to him about certain scenes. and he has no idea what Im talking about..


Does anyone else actually do this ? is

I skip most cutscenes and I'm no worse off for it. People enjoy different things in game.

It's okay. Some players just aren't interested in that stuff.

I skipped most of WHM and SCH scenes since those jobs don't appeal to me. I completed the jobs just to have them complete.

Edit: If all cut scenes were voiced over I wouldn't skip a single one. ^^

Someone who used to play with me skipped all the scenes. It is sad because the story is very interesting and has many unfinished threads to speculate about. Knowing the world and characters adds to the enjoyment.

I agree but I am a FF fan who has played all the games and we love the stories of these games. Perhaps general rpg players who don't know the rich history of the series are coming in with less expectations about it and don't care about things like bahamut and gilgamesh which we fans are excited about.

I watch all of the cutscenes at least once. They can all be watched later on from the book in the inn room. I use that to get cutscene screenshots in different outfits.

I tried to start a thread before about how representative the forums are of the player base as a whole but, other than saying only 3-5% of players will be in the forums, there wasn't really anything about what *types* of players are more likely to be represented in the forums. It could be 97% of the players watch all the cutscenes .. but they are the 97% not looking at the forums.

I skip them and watch them later as I don't want to interrupt the flow of the battle and force my team to wait. But if someone else wants to watch them I have no problem with them doing it.
