Stop making fights where you have to move. What if I want to stand in the brightly colored stuff?
(I'm being facetious.)

I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
Now I know people are complaining just to complain, there are many issues in boss fights of this game but the ability to see what you want is not one of them...
If anything, I would like the ability to be able to zoom out the camera farther.
Might be a PS3 thing
I just finished Aurum Vale for the first time and had a lot of trouble with this... No matter what I did, I couldn't find a camera angle or distance that would allow me to see everything I needed to because the walls kept getting in the way... I'm a crafter, not a fan of dungeons, but wish they were easier to at least look around in. The entire time I was in there, I was wishing there was at least an option to crop walls and ceilings blocking the freedom of camera movement I was trying (and failing) to achieve.
Requiring players to zoom out is a good thing. If your zoomed in your not really able to pay attention to everything happening I wouldn't think, this way your punished for not paying attention. Titan hm at default zoom, or titan ex for that matter would both suck. That could actually be why so many people have issues with those fights.
you never know what worse luck your bad luck saved you from -- Cormac McCarthy
game camera doesn't zoom out far enough if you ask me
you should be max zoomed out if you want to make the most of your situational awareness
If I kept the camera as close to my character as the default configuration in this game does if I were playing World of Warcraft, I'd never be able to see players coming up from behind me and Shamans would be just out of my FOV so I couldn't see them priming their nukes on me. It would be very difficult to line up Shockwaves that hit more than 2 players very well and decrease the overall amount of strategy I could use to control the movements of my enemies.
I haven't kept a camera close to my character on purpose since I learned this. Stop admiring your character so much and zoom out. If you want to admire your character, that is what inn rooms or non combat situations are for.
Spinning mouse wheel 2 hard, plz nerf
All joking aside there are times when I feel a detachment from my character's actions when zoomed out to max distance, I feel more like I'm playing a sim-style strategy game. We weren't required to zoom out hugely in FFXI and many of the encounters were challenging without the requirement of twitch-dodging the big orange circle of doom on the ground, indeed, mob abilities weren't telegraphed in such a content-cheapening way.
