You can't say that when there are people that have already responded in a genuine manner. Even if they're the minority. What you think is not fact. It's an opinion. I'm sorry, but people stating opinions as facts is a pet peeve of mine.

Try to rotate between different activities to keep things feeling fresh. It's interesting to switch between tank, dps and healer to learn dungeons for each role. Have a go at selling items on the market and don't forget treasure hunts.
Sadly, I've played as a tank for a bit and while it was a bit more fun, it's not enough to get me engaged again. I have doubts that the new content will do so as well. I can only (sadly) see it as more of the same.

Treasure hunts would probably be a good change of pace, but since I need to grind for the maps, I don't feel very motivated to go out of my way to do them.

If you start playing a mmo at that pace at releaae running out of stuff to do is just bound to happen eventually.

I still have my crafting classes to complete before I go anywhere near CT but I know that at some point I will have to take 6 to 12 months off. To play other games and also let SE keep adding stuff that I'd like to play.

I'm very fond of the main storyline and a whole another questline like that would surely bring me back from the eventual non-sub-time.

I only have one class/job at 50, I've yet to max any of the gathering or crafting classes, Ifrit is the only Hard Mode Primal I've defeated, I've yet to unlock the dungeons that were released with 2.1.

It's not that I don't have anything to do. It's that I no longer feel any excitement when I play. All the battle content feels to similar to engage me anymore. I find it very disheartening.

Again, I think the battle system might have something to do with it. I don't even mean that I'd like this game to be more fast-paced. I played Wakfu, a tactical, turn-based MMORPG for a long time before Ankama's decisions made me disinterested. Unless you were grinding the same group of mobs over and over again solo, nearly each and every battle managed to play out differently. There was a ton of thinking involved and the dungeons were no joke. Even battles in dungeons would play out differently each time depending on a large number of factors. That's what kept me playing that game for as long as I did.

That's why the monotony (for lack of a better word) in this game eventually broke me down.

Ditto, OP. Ditto. I find very little enjoyment in the game anymore. I log in to cap myth and that's about it. I tried leveling crafting and gathering classes but got bored after I got CUL to 50. Don't really care to do more.

I wish there were more events, hunting logs, quests and such in the game. This is what entertains me as a MMO player. Dungeons have never been my thing. I haven't even done any of the EX primals or Coil... I just don't care to. I was hoping beastman dailies would be enough to keep me busy, but they are notoriously boring and only take like 15-20 minutes to complete.

This is happening to me too. The lack of adventure and the arcade style of gaming is wearing me out. The week long lockouts is also preventing me from gearing my character up.

I mean apart from levelling my other jobs, helping FC mates, there's nothing else to do...

I'm trying to hold on because of a raid group I formed for the coils, but sometimes it feels like I'm working way too much for the game instead of having fun... And it's because of the way SE set the game up.

Lockouts that forced FC breaking statics, Crystal Towers that could not be enjoyed by the FC...

Gathering jobs do make me feel like an illegal immigrant. Add that to the fact you can't get anything done end game unless you have 7 skilled players just makes me a sad panda.

I played FFXI for 8 years before I got bored of it. I feel like there was more variety, excitement, danger, more to explore, areas always had a reason to go back to them, unique and fun jobs, amazing story.

I agree that the content in this game feels too similar. Dungeons may look different and aesthetically pleasing, but they all feel the same. Even the jobs don't feel unique enough. I can't say that there's any one job that I love playing. The story is very lacking - I feel like I may as well be chit-chatting to NPCs about the weather. Where's the danger and excitement?

It's a little discouraging that I'm getting bored of this game so soon. I don't exactly have high expectations for a game. I just expect to have fun. I'm still playing (for now) because after playing FFXI, I know that SE can make an enjoyable MMORPG. I'm just waiting to see if this one will be.
