Speculation: New Tome Gear?

I think it's gonna be AF2, and that AF2 will be comparable to Allagan 2, like currently AF+1 is to allagan. Just a guess.

I hope for some BLM AF that isn't completely ugly and allows me to see my character's face. Unfortunately you can't rely on allagan because of the stupid RNG. In all the Coil runs my FC has done since October we have never seen casting body.

I wonder how the new tomes will be called... We have mythology (more ancient way to explain things), then we have philosophy (modern way to explain things)... Maybe it will be Theology? Technology? Technology was a big thing for the Allagans AND it is for big part of our allies (Cid for example: "Freedom through Technology").

That has me more intrigued than the gear itself. lol.

On one of the slides the japanese beside tomestone listed [戦記] (senki - military history; war history).
I have a feeling they didn't list any english yet as they haven't decided what to actually put in english.
It could also be that it was supposed to be [戦機] (senki - time for battle; military secrets; strategy) and someone just mixed up the words.

Is there a one way word in english that means "war history" or "military history"?
Allagan Tomestones of War/Military History sounds a bit weird...
Allagan Tomestones of Strategy sounds sorta good though.

Unless they plan to introduce a new set of armor we have yet to see or something like DarkLight 2.

I think the new Darklight is just what we are calling Allagan today. With no lockout, independent turns and player buff, there's no reason not to farm the heck out of that place for all my level 50 jobs. Or they may simply decide to remove the weekly cap on Myth so AF+1 becomes the new darklight.

Both of these solutions would be in perfect alignment with their design goal of accessibility.

I just can't make sense of the word while if it was misspelled (wrong kanji used) I can see it make sense. Maybe there is a better word in english than "military history" or "war history", but I can't think of one.

Oh, I'm just replying to the part about it could be 戦機---it cannot because 戦記 is used in multiple places, even in the "official" summary slides they show towards the end.

I hate to say it, but I really dislike the Monk's clothes concept (which seems to be inspired from buddhist traditions). It really saddens me, since I find the AF one really nice. In fact, for this concept, I only like the top and the gloves...

It might look like a cliche, but I would prefer something of this genre instead (pics found on Google) :






I don't know, it just looks like these clothes from the concept art aren't designed for fighting purposes... I guess we'll see how it looks like in-game.

Well it is mostly because they are basing AF set on FF characters now.

MNK AF2 is based on Yang Fang Leiden from FFIV



DRG AF2 is also based on Kain Highwind from FFIV
