I'm hopeful for both types to be honest. Other games had combinations of both, even FFXI. I want short-lived, easy to get with your friends and have some fun events with some strategy thrown in, but I also want those events where you really need to know exactly what you're doing in order to complete it.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.
disappointment.

This made my day
Otherwise, I'm very interested in the feeling I got when my CoP static beat Oryu for the first time. It took a few tries but when we put our heads together and came up with some good strategy the feeling when the BCNM ended was pretty damn awesome. I hope whatever content they add can re-create that feeling.

I don't really care too much about the format so long as it has longevity, an interesting backstory and something to work towards.Dynamis-esque.

I'm just hoping for something different, I'm confident SE can provide that.
Logically, these will most likely be easy 'starter' dungeons. They've confirmed they will be raising the level cap, so rank 30 and rank 50 dungeons will most likely be toned down to suit better to beginners. I doubt experienced MMO players will be challenged during these events, unless there are some serious balance issues; considering the new battle changes, this is entirely likely.
I don't imagine there will be any truly spectacular events within these dungeons, aside from the garlean prescence alluded to by the Grand Company page, I am hard pressed to find any reason why these dungeons will be an important part of FFXIV.
For the moment though, they will be the endgame. Hopefully they satisfy the broadest majority of players and keep them playing. No doubt there will be flame threads attacking SE for not making it hard enough, but so is the nature of 17 year old basement monsters.

Final boss will be a bigger fucsia Djigga! XD
