Oh, the meters can tell you if your healing someone who's already full?
That seems pretty useful then =)
(This is my first game with meters lol)
This game becomes more WOW-like by the month, this is the sort of toxic stuff that's happened there for years, SE's adding Vote Kick was just pandering to the retards that use meters for anything other than their own personal stats.
Parsing healing is and always has been pointless. Everquest 2's ACT plugin was one of the best parsers I've seen in any game in terms of informational breakdown (the eq2 log tells you damn near everything if you want all the details) and parsing healing was STILL pointless because the only things that matter are 'did you live' or 'did you die'. Just like parsing for DPS is meaningful if you want to eke every bit of possible damage out of your rotation, but even without a parser it's usually obvious if one DPS in the group is leaning back and hitting a 1-2-3 macro.
SE could do away with the parsers by not including dps/healing details in the battle log. It should say say, so and so used x ability, and not what it hit or healed for.
Oh hell no. Do NOT give me shaded health bars that tell me nothing whatsoever. Nothing could make me unsub faster.
Yeah hiding that info is a good way to piss a lot of people off, the only possible reason to hide it is to hide bad play.
And the horrors of parsers and elitism rear their ugly heads once more.
The best thing you can do is just ignore those people. All they care about is everyone doing the absolute possible best no matter what and won't tolerate anything less than perfection. It's completely asinine and just a sad thing that unfortunately we have to deal with from time to time. I won't lie, I get angry too when people are dragging their feet, but you can't just flip out on everyone over every little thing. Gotta take it on a case by case basis and if you can, not be a total jerk unless the person's really asking for it (i.e. trolling or attempting content that they are clearly undergeared for and even in that case, you should just advise them as such try to avoid berrating them too hard.)
We're all human though, we say/do stupid things in the heat of the moment. And then some people are just natural born jerks :/
Parsing heals outside of testing item proc's amuses me greatly
Parsing heals? Really? Hurrrrrf, it' so dependant on your group taking damage that it's the least reliable thing to parse.
The parser that is out there for FFXIV does not account for overhealing since there is no way for it to know how much health you have. (Unless they added overhealing to the combat log since I last looked.) Also if you go out of range then it doesn't show in the logs as accurately. Not to mention, if someone is spamming medica then they will out heal the single target just because medica heals a group of people while you are single healing. This was clearly a case of someone wanting to blame someone else.
@OP: Report the tank that started the vote kick, getting kicked for that reason is bannable. The VK system according to the FAQ is for Harassment, disconnects and something else that I can't remember at this moment. Does not include being vote kicked for not parsing well enough.
