The real question is, how can something so easy become easier?
Turn 1 - No stacks and no split
Turn 2 - 2 chests appear once you enter
Turn 3 - removed
Turn 4 - 50% HP reduction for all mobs
Turn 5 - Tank and spank

This is not true. Beyond that, the addition of new content often makes that kind of thing unnecessary. Difficulty of old content is left alone because people get all kinds of new gear/tools/jobs to deal with it, so it ends up getting "nerfed" effectively because of that. This kind of gimping is just not necessary. I'm not necessarily against it, but you can't just play it off like every company does this.
fixed to something more realistic. The real question is, how can something so easy become easier?
Turn 1 - No stacks
Turn 2 - allagan rot is removed
Turn 3 - the trash ignores you
Turn 4 - bugs no longer give dread a det buff. pox nerfed. dred damage nerfed
Turn 5 - firebombs hit for less, and waxing flesh does not affect conflags duration so heavily, divebombs/twisters even more forgiving, last phase more forgiving
also echo buff.
Exactly. But this way of thinking is put up by the community and every sheep just follows... i90+ will already result in a more smooth run through turn 1-5, why nerf it even more? (Did you know people also complain about the difficulty of HM dungeons? Just wow..)
We all know that companies often nerf/adjust old content since it's not that relevant anymore. In this case, it being the bridge to turn 6 and up, I find it rather disappointing they chose for the nerfing option since it could still add a lot to the game.
I'm all for making a game more appealing. If this is what the larger crowd wants, let them have it. I think SE does a good job feeding both "casual gamers" and the ones (like me) who like a bit of a challenge.
On another note. Does anyone know if looting will be restricted to one item per turn 1-5 (per week)? If not, what's the point of i80 gear?

I'm just going to talk quickly with my first WoW experience, it was during the burning crusade. I entered the game late, near the launch of The Wrath of the Liche King. When I hit level 70 there were a few very hardcore groups on T6 raids, a few on T5 and a lot still farming through Karazhan. As someone already behind the game it was very difficult to find a raid group. Also since there was no dual spec at the time you had to dedicate your player to either PvP or PVE. unable for weeks to even join in a single raid I PvP for a few months then stopped playing. The playerbase was stratified because of their gear so much so that those who were behind found it very hard to enter the raid portion of the game. There was also a large problem (which was even worse in FFXI [take Sea for example]) where blizzard was developing new content at a regular basis that many players simply did not have a chance to experience. Their solution to this was to release easy/hardmode raids and tokens for raid entry level gear so that all players would be able to participate in the current tier of raid (at least the normal mode version of the encounter) SE is trying to do the same. But their methodology is to have 1 and only 1 "Hardcore" raid at a time while making all over content accessible to the player base. With their job system I think this will complement gearing alts nicely.
Just because you and a select few groups find the content easy doesn't mean everyone does. Despite all the video tutorials on the internet and word of mouth, people are going to have a hard time on matter what. Just remember, if most people can't access later content for a while, then there's no reason for them to keep playing and they'll cancel their subscriptions, and that will make Square's profits shrink.Exactly. I will never understand people who value their progression in such a negative manner. It's not about what you can do but about what other people can't do. It's silly to be mad about something like this, especially when anyone who knows anything about MMOs would have seen it coming.
Actually plenty of handicapped people do play these games, it's pretty offense to lump a physical disability in with being a small child or a drug addict. Many of them do damn well because frankly these games aren't hard, no matter how much your ego needs to insist they are. Becoming so bitter about a content nerf is far more of a handicap than any of the people you view with such derision have. Seriously, just what is wrong with you?
Wait up.. So i worked hard prior to 2.1 to get Myth Gear by farming AK and WP over and over hitting my cap every week.
I got I90 myth gear for my DRG then started working on I90 myth for my Whm...
they released 2.1 So i figured.. i would give it a shot.. Started working on WHM first.
Got 2 items so far... for WHM > i70 gear > hmmmm.. my i90 myth gear is better.
Explain to me... why i need to do COIL ? if my Myth gear is same stats i90
Only one thing i can think of... Vanity. So i worked hard to unlock myth gear while others took the harder route CB before 2.1.
I welcome the nerf Coil as . I dont need the gear.. but would like to obtain it.

I found it quite sensitive. He's all for giving those people a shot.
