    Lastly, You honestly think square isn't aware of the problem? There have been numerous threads about it. They've tried doing things on their end with the positional update which is an implicit acknowledgement that they know thereis a problem, and they are likely still working on it since the problem continues for some. Unlike many people here I don't need an explicit acknowledgement of the problem in order to be happy in the knowledge they are working on it. Square is a group of smart people, and I have no doubt they are aware of the problem. Even still I don't care if you want to complain about it in some sort of attempt to elicit a response from them. What does bother me is willful ignorance about the source of the issue. Square can call level3, and I'm sure they have. Square can even plead with them to fix the issue. In the end Level3 is the one who has to fix it, and if Level3 makes that difficult then what do you expect square to do? Complaining and blaming square will never fix that issue. Square is not Level3. Blaming the game, blaming the netcode, and blaming the servers will never, ever, fix a problem at level3.

    If you are one of the people having issues with a level 3 node you could always look here http://www.level3.com/ to complain to the people who own it.

    Actually there are anti shock systems and classifications ( all manufactures include road conditions, aka pot holes) to certify their new models.

    Most companies even beat the minimum requirement by a lot to compete (thus you are also wrong about your pot hole argument). So why is SE so behind in the "pothole" tolerance?

    Yep, this is why companies these days pander to the lowest common denominator because they don't care if something isn't their direct fault, if they go to mcdonalds and demand you give them a whopper and 3 cheese pizza and they don't they'll call the police saying you refuse to service them.

    Fyi, XI runs perfectly fine and it's an SE game so no, SE doesn't run their own routing that's causing issues for people. I will say this though:

    People wanted Playonline gone so badly because it took extra seconds to get into the game, now you see why SE originally went with their own actual system for MMOs.

    Less exaggeration and crazy customer in the next scenario, please. This is hardly the norm for the average consumer, and these are not the customers that any company attempts to cater to.

    I'm sure that people would've been fine with the Play Online launcher system if it wasn't a clunky piece of garbage; That's what people wanted gone, and rightly so.

    But this brings back to the main point again, SQE and XIV are the only ones with this particular problem.. if no other big-name MMO is having this trouble, but XIV is.. then obviously the other companies are doing something for their customers that SQE -isn't- with XIV; And that's a strike against the company in the mind of any responsible consumer.

    And no other company with business sense would remain silent on this kind of problem; Which is essentially forcing customers to pay for another service in order to play their game properly.

    My issue is not with level3. I stated this already. My issue is with Tata Communications which is the SoCal problem which has existed months before the level3 thing.

    And yes, before you assume, I have already reported it and Tata doesn't seem to care one whit.

    Uhhh...you do know that XI's datacenters are not in the same place as FFXIV's right?

    Yep - If it was purely SE, wouldn't XI's players also be suffering the same "unplayable lag"? As is any other online games SE hosted/hosts or helps manage? No matter how many times it's explained people still say it's 100% on SE as if they can completely fix it themselves when they can't if it resides with another company. People bring up level3 because that's a very common one and one an ISP admitted is the actual problem.
