If you kick a player out of your PT its grounds for recourse from a GM due to grievance. You can get suspended for making a player feel gimp by informing him his DPS is horrid.

On the flipside, you can que up for CT, get your drop, leave and no one will ever give a sh!t.

You're condemned to content for 4 or 8 members.

Put it this way, if this was XI in 2008, My LS message might read "Sunday Sky Farming: Byakko & Genbu then Dynamis Beauc - Monday Seiryu & Suzaku then Einherjar Chamber 1 - Tuesday Kirin x5 + Limbus - Wednesday Dynamis Lord + Jailer Farm - Thursday Break (Salvage Groups/Nyzul Isle) - Friday Odin - Saturday Limbus

In XIV my FC MSG reads "Hi WELCOME TO XIV. We will be back in 2.2, if it doesn't suck and can't guarantee we will stay"

EDIT: XI has so many valuable lessons for SE to take home and use as a guide in XIV's direction.
I don't think any WoW player will ever be able to understand the loyalty and love XI players had for the game. People were attached to their servers like they were their second home. This current form of XIV, does not have that potential.

FFXI was released in NA in 2002, giving it 6 years to reach this stage of content you mention. ARR was released in Aug 2013.

There was more content and party play in 1.0.
There was most certainly more content in RoZ (NA Release FFXI) than there is in FFXIV 2.0.
Also, XI was SE's first MMO. You would think that after 12 years of experience they would be able to gauge what type of content is worth investing in and what type isn't.

    Chocobo racing - fail.
    Pankraton - fail.
Small man, instance restrictive Pvp- fail.
    Reskinning, recycling content - fail.
    Please, look forward to it.

They do know. That's why they're making content for us "casual" players who take our time and enjoy the game for what it is instead of catering to the small percentage of "I steamrolled Titan XM with a hand tied to my back, I NEED MOAR" players. All these threads always boil down to the hardcore 5% saying SE is clueless while the rest of the players (most of whom don't even browse the forums) don't care.

Actually no. The bar is indeed low if you think having things to do = hard core Haijin player.
I don't actually care to steamroll any content at all. I do, however, wish for diversity and that shouldn't be beyond the reach of SE.
Noting all the points I previously made, I'm not going to repeat myself.

They were smart, they catered to you casuals and made their money back, where will they be when all of you move on to the next shiny, and the only people left are the ones who want more while you guys are flying rocket ships in wildstar or one of the f2p clones?

I can't speak for everyone else (unlike some people in this thread), but I'm not planning to go anywhere. I like ARR, and I think it will only get better.

Exactly my point, catering to the casuals will retain a player base only until said casuals get really excited about something else. When a good chunk of their players leave for something new SE will have lost pretty much everyone who is cheering them on in their casual approach, all that will be left is grumpy people who don't even log in anymore because there is nothing to do.

Nothing wrong with playing casually, MMO's are meant to be enjoyed at whatever pace you'd like, but there is a good number of people who want/expected more and were left with a sour taste in their mouth after 2.1.

implying that causal players dont stick or continue to pay a sub for p2p mmo. fun fact, i am a causal player that still have a sub for 2 p2p mmo (eve and swtor) and dump 50+ dollars on a f2p game monthly (sdgo) all while paying for this. tbh, when you are looking at this forum, all you see is the "hardcore" and legacy threatening to leave...while the dirty filthy casuals you seem to despised, arent even considering to leave for wildstar, eso or eqnext.

Nice to see you supporting so many games. I'm willing to bet you pay for them because you play and and enjoy them still, and find the content worth paying for right? You more than likely play at a very slow pace and enjoy the game because you feel there is a wealth of content ahead of you. Checking your lodestone profile you have one DOW class, it's level 11. Your blacksmith is level 20. To put that into perspective I leveled my botanist more in one day than you have combined levels. Of course you're going to say this game is great if and will continue to play it because you have little to no time invested in it and enjoy it casually. I bet you'll pick up wildstar and try that out and eve TESO too, which isn't a crime but I feel like you're missing the point that is being made. That being said I don't fault anyone who currently "likes" or is "happy" with the game so far, but they are usually the ones who haven't put a ton of time into it.
