Anyone not so excited for 2.2 and the future of this game?

Hollywood got it right. Its been nothing but Blockboster Marvel/DC superhero movies for the past 15 years. Avengers anyone?
That demographic is MALE, in mid 20's to early 30's.

disregarding everything else you said: since when was disney's avengers targeted towards 20 - 30 year old men?
i'm sorry that's just ludicrous, just because you can enjoy a thing doesn't mean you are it's target audience. the avengers was targeted to male children and teens, all marvel movies (brightly coloured, well costumed) have been tailored towards a young audience of late. also i'm not sure what other movies you know of that are targeted towards 20-30 year old men and come with excessive disney merchandising, costume lines, young boys clothing lines, a teen drama and a disney channel cartoon (with it's own toy line).

i'm pretty sure they're not trying to catch your attention, unless you're a rather unusual 20-30 year old man. given that you can't understand advertising/marketing in this instance, i'm not inclined to believe your assertions in other instances.

You need to play Dark Souls, it's easily the best game this generation, and possibly ever made (IMO)
& the sequel is shaping up to best it in nearly every way

I am not the kind of "white knight" thinking that everything the developers do is right. Quite the contrary. Said that, I don't envy them, seeing the attitude of many players here. Including myself when I am in bad mood. :P

My current take on this game is: far from perfect, with glaring issues, but what is good is SO good that for the first time in my life I am paying subscriptions for 2 games (the other is good old WoW, of course).

So, FF14 is somewhat WoW-like, with better graphics and, on the whole, slightly worse gameplay. For me, that's good: had no problem in finding myself at home with the game. I may be too conservative, but imho MMO games don't need a revolution, like Web browsers don't need one. The WoW model works just right. These games need gradual technical advances, good quality and some decent story authors.

And maybe we should give some break to SE. This game is a few months old, 1.0 doesn't count as it was rewritten completely. Nothing is born perfect.

Oh eum.. idk. Probably because 2 triple AAA mmo and World of warcraft expansion is coming soon so people who quit out of boredom will most likely not come back anytime soon. So while you stand there doing damage control for SE you'll be the first one to complain in a few month how the community has gotten too small.

Would i rather pay 15$ a month for one raid with 4 bosses with the most boring gear progression i have ever seen or go to a whole new game that won't be held back by a 8 years old hardware? hard choice

I played Dragon knight in betas and with my sword and shield I was facerolling everything .....

Did you try dual wield, 2 handed or destruction staff? you'll deal more than 3x damage while still having your bash interupt and almost the same defence

Don't get me wrong, I love alot of what the games does, and don't want a revolution, I just want more variety instead of: Do Dungeons, get loot, lockout, do dungeon next week, get loot

I don't want contrived explanations for why Ifrit is now "Extreme", I don't want enemies to become more powerful than Ultima, then eventually we're fighting God, but don't stop there! Patch 3.2 adds God "Extreme Mode" Please look forward to it"

If everyone thought like you we would still be living in the stone age . I remember someone once said , we don't need graphical user interfaces like windows , DOS does just fine.

I wanna see more content like the Fishing Log, content I can do with my chocobo, more FF related stuff, I want a more interconnected world, I want secrets. a thriving economy, more variety in crafting

SE has basically said "Screw you, we want to make everything instanced and have no plans to do anything else except your monthly dungeon"

Wow has been around for a while now and has built lore and content out the wazzoo. The main difference is that WoW has had like... 8 years or something to add content and expand. Ffxiv has had about 5 months not including the stuff from 1.0. The only reason people remember stuff like ragefire chasm from WoW is because you would do it all the time when you started a new character. Ffxiv doesnt really have that unless you start an alt (which few people do).

Also please dont compare this game to demon/dark souls. Two very very different game structures. Compare it to other games that are MMOs.

The game will evolve lore and deeper story and a greater connection with things. Theyll fix pvp, add more pve, more classes and fun in general.

Maybe in a few yeara we'll see stuff like Garuda EX mk.II and what not after we have seen more content and what not much like WOW recycled things like Ragnaros and Onyxia and stuff. Patience young grasshopper.

Indeed, I'm very excited for it. If they added crafting group content, or other content for crafters/gatherers, it'd make my day!

What annoys me though is when people talk about future content and they don't even say they'll look into it, and say they don't have plans to ever add it, or even think about it.

& Garuda EX mk II is exactly the type of thing I wouldn't want to see, lol
