I'm just going off what I've heard, if it already works like that then I have no idea what the problem is. Personally I've not really seen the function used yet, thankfully.
so far how its worked for me....
In CT...nightmare run...we wipe 3 or 4 times each run. a Vote to Abandon starts, i click no, and 4 people drop from the instance. Moving further, fail some more, Vote again. i click no, someone else leaves the instance. So far, it seems the only way you'd leave is if you click yes on the vote. its working just fine for me. I can't tell if people just want to whine for the sake of whining or if i'm the only one that the vote for abandon isn't screwing over apparently.
I was part of a Vote Abandon situation last night while running AK. We just didn't have the dps to get past Demon Wall. We wiped 3 times to it (while getting nowhere), then the tank suggested one more try, then vote to abandon. We wiped again, then the tank started the vote. I said yes, someone else must have as well, if not both of them. It was very smooth, very simple. No trolling involved. I believe this was the kind of situation for which the Vote Abandon was implemented.
indeed. i think what people are saying is that they are being dropped when voting no....but i don't see why since it doesn't seem thats how it works. but seriously i'm glad we have the option to vote abandon now instead of figuring out which one of us is fine with crafting or finding something else to do for half an hour. lol.
Another person who does not understand what they are upset about. Light party takes 3/4 yes, Full party takes 5/8 yes, and alliance takes 14/24 yes to abandon, so the majority. On the other hand it takes half, or in the case of CT less than half of the total players to vote no to not abandon. It is fair on the numbers needed as it is now, and actually it is in favor of "no".
OP please edit your post to include this from the patch notes:
The Vote Abandon function has been added, making it possible to abandon a duty without penalty if the following conditions are met:
Light Party
Two players (not including the initiating player) must vote Yes to disband and end the duty.
Full Party
4 players (not including the initiating player) must vote Yes to disband and end the duty.
Alliance
13 players (not including the initiating player) must vote Yes to disband and end the duty.
* Updated 01/22/2014
1. While in a duty, open the Duty Finder interface under Duty on the main menu, then select Vote Abandon.
2. All party members will be presented with a window to vote. If the majority votes Yes within 30 seconds, the duty will be abandoned.
Maybe then people could talk about real issues they have instead of ones they are just not understanding.
That sounds more like nobody voted to abandon... Four people dropping out of Crystal Tower when a minimum of 13 players are needed to successfully abandon Crystal Tower... Yeah, they probably left on their own and people followed; if people voted yes to abandon then fourteen or more would have dropped out, not four.so far how its worked for me....

i guess at 14 it would still be too much to hope the in progress farmers would fill it back up? i guess it has to be a lost cause for it to pull everyone out. i still regret staying....it only stayed awful the further along we got.
Updated the OP with your requested and copied information Alteen.
I wanna see that mythical troll that convinces over half the party to vote yes through mind control.
Face it you're just creating bogeymen at this point. A troll is anyone who does something you personally don't want, the majority be damned.
Oh I don't know...was trying to practice some Titan EM. After 2 wipes, *someone* starts spamming Vote Abandon and refuses to move. It's supposed to be Vote Abandon, not "Vote Yes or I AFK".
I just find it ironic because SE decided to implement penalties for people leaving a dungeon, but then decided to introduce Vote Abandon. Apparently SE underestimates how easily people give up.
Before Vote Abandon: 2 wipes, and someone leaves. Someone has to foot a penalty.
After Vote Abandon: 2 wipes and Vote Abandon. People are eager to leave and find a new party. Nobody foots a penalty.
Suffice to say, wiping twice in Titan EM per attempt has made me learn nothing.
