My problem with F2P is that they are either P2Win or they spam you with subscription options to really get the full game (highest level gear etc.)
There are lots of great people and players you miss out on with that setup.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't SE said this game will NEVER be F2P no matter what happens? Your complaints are falling on the ears of those who literally could not care any less at all. SE's business model has pretty much always been "deal with it or leave."

Tell them you will give them something like gil every month for their sub fee... that is similar...
I am sorry you aren't able to play with friends... that really makes a game more special. There are many friendly people in game to meet, but I know it's not the same.
Hopefully in the future they will develop more content and your friends will want to sub.

I hope this game never goes free to play. Every game I've played that went free, decreased in overall quality in both gameplay, and customer service. This game is worth the monthly fee. It is a hell of a lot better than WoW. That game has gotten so bad they are trying to entice people back by trying to sell free level up to current level cap in an in game store. They've all but flipped their f2p switch. So if your friends wont play because it's not f2p, then that's their loss. We got a superb game with a superb development team, and a great community. I say we keep it this way.
Because mandatory transaction versus optional or something.
Ironically those "optional" transactions are required to actually do anything worthwhile in the game. I don't understand the logic of people like that.

F2P games are trash, all of them. Even LOL (League Of Legends) is trash. F2P destroys games. If anything the subscription should be higher, 30$ a month, then if 50% leave they still make the same and to the 50% left, we get served better.

To me, companies that toy with you to trick you into spending optional money are scum. I respect a company that gives me an exact fixed price with no bull shit. And that exact fixed price is exactly what a sub is. It's more fair too. Instead of relying on a select few to spend hundreds on the game you play to keep it alive, you know everyone paying with you is paying the same thing you are.
And people are so stingy, what is 14.99$ these days? That's trash change. The minimum wage is high enough in most places to pay for that in 2 hours of work, at minimum wage. Me personally, I pay that with the loose change on my dryer. If you can't afford that, maybe you should reconsider if you should be playing the game at all. Go out and improve your quality of life, then pay the sub and play.
Personally I'd like to see a microtransaction store added to this game on top of the subscription fee when this game implements Vanity slots. I wouldn't mind paying a few bucks for limited-time/event vanity gear that goes on top of your battle equipment, and neither would a lot of other people. Especially in MMORPGs, appearance is one of the few things that actually sets you apart from other players, especially a new one like A Realm Reborn.
Considering everybody at lvl 50 will ideally have the same ilvl 90 clothes and zenith weapon, and considering there are only 4 races and a dozen or so hairstyles, many people would love it if they took on this aspect of f2p games by implementing a relatively inexpensive cash shop. This would bolster the social aspect of the game, which considering the currently low lvl limit and relatively little content (seeing as it's a "new" game), social interaction should be crucial to keeping players who've reached end-game.
