Why are people so opposed to sub based games when those same people will drop hundreds or more on micro transactions on a free to play game?

My guess is because they can choose when and how much they can pay if they want too.

Already been stated that this game will crash and burn before it goes FTP (by Yoshi)... If you wanna play with your friends you better find a new game or convince them this one is amazing and worth the cash...

You can with a sub based game as well. Don't like the game unsubscribe, your always able to come back later if you want.

I just don't understand why people would rather use them, even my own brother who has always said he would never pay to play a game in regards to FFXI and WoW which I tried to get him to play admitted he ended up spending close to 1000 on a few games he played only a few months. He has the money to and it's his decision I just hate how they set it up, your not getting a better gaming experience your just throwing away more money to speed up the game or get a slight edge over someone else. The amount of cash he's blown on a few F2P games is way more then I've spent on years of sub based games.

Sad thing is we know what kind of tripe that attracts when a game goes F2P. Instead of Gil Spamming tells I would see /shout spam of some moron going

Well should it come down to free to play, you and your friends will have to find a new game because Yoshida has said repeatedly that he will shut down the servers first.

Fun fact of the day : This game is never going F2P. Yoshida already said he would rather shut the game down than see it go F2P.

Meanwhile, this isn't even funny as a troll topic anymore. It was maybe funny the first 10 times it was posted on the ARR beta forums in like June, but even as a joke it's a dead horse now.
