Vote-Kicked from Pharos Sirus as healer

So I have pretty extensive experience in PS, I cleared it on first day of release, and run it as tank/healer also. DF queue to Pharos Sirus today on my ilvl90 Tank, no one in the group has every killed it they say. I explain every fight, we die a few times but get a kill on Siren with like 4 minutes left in instance.


I switch characters (multiple characters) to run the Roulette on my 85 WHM. So, I get PS again. Same thing, tank never been there, 2 BRD in group seem also to not know but they don't talk much. So I explain every fight again each time, and we get to Siren without dying once. So on Siren, I explained everything beforehand. I explained at 50%, she will start casting Lunatic VOice, and the BRD's Warrior need to INTERRUPT it, also kill ads, and I marked myself as a target for them to follow when she jumps up which was explained.

First pull, BRD ignores ads and I am binded on the first set on first set of ads and almost die. Siren jumps up, we run to the side, BRD sits in middle doesn't even move. We wipe.

So I come back, ask the BRD "why didn't you attack ads? Why didn't you stack on me?" Then they say, I did attack ads, just "go go go go." I remind them again to interrupt Lunatic VOice. Second attempt, we get to like 30% health, but only 1/3 Lunatic Voice is interrupted, brd getting hit by jump again, we wipe.

So we run back, and I am asking "Why didn't you interrupt? Do people understand what their job is?" WAR says "yeah sorry, I get it, will do better" then I say the BRDs need to do it since WAR can't reliably stun (on GCD and 40 sec cd). BRD's are silent, I ask "Do Bards understand what their role it?" -silence- Warrior goes to pull boss, and I say "I need acknowledgment from BRDs that they know what to do, don't pull boss" He stops, hesitates, then goes in while I am standing outside and I am like "dont go in" so the 2 BRD and me stay out (they still aren't saying anything, except the 1 BRD earlier is like "I did attack ads!"). So, the warrior is in there himself solo, he dies, then not entirely unexpected, I was kicked from the group.

So I am literally carrying these people who never been there, explaining everything, then they kick me out for wanting verbal confirmation that DPS knows their role in a fight and responsibilities. I waste close to 50 minutes teaching and trying to explain all mechanics and then kicked because obviously they don't know how hard of a healing fight Siren is, and we need compete teamwork, and we can't just "yeah, yeah, go" this fight.

So I reported these people for harassment, but I know nothing will happen since SE doesn't really have the ability to police these type of things, but the vote kick system is horribly setup now and making me regret every queuing for DF Roulette trying to teach people and vote kick abuse is pretty rampant in this game, the system was poorly designed I hope they fix it soon.

You have to be very careful with your words when telling people what to do and telling them what they did wrong, it's easy to upset someone. If you say "why didn't you do xxx?" it can come across like you are telling them off and it might be the case that they were really trying hard to do as instructed but simply made a mistake. A good way to help would be to remind people of the plan without calling out anyone in particular: "ok good try, don't forget to xxx".

Actually from your words it sounds like you were being an asshole and belittling people then stopping the progression of the team... Honestly the tank probably started the vote because he was ready to go and you were stopping the situation... You should't be targeting someone specifically and then treating them like a little kid... You yelled at them so they most likely felt like shit and then you stood over them like a parent expecting them to acknowledge what you said... You deserved the boot and it was well justified... I needed to quote this to point out, again, that this is how you should treat new players. Rufalus has it right. If players are new, it may take more than one try. I know your intention was to teach, but your phrasing in your story can be taken as accusatory. I find that using the word 'please' and 'thank you' a lot is a good way to make sure players don't get upset. Praising what they did well is also a good idea... "Wow, that was a good attempt considering you are all new. Okay, let's try again. Bards please remember to silence because it makes the fight really hard if it doesn't get interrupted."

Brutal Swing has never had a cooldown of 40 seconds. It has been 20 seconds since 2.1. Because I don't trust other players to interrupt, I usually ask the tank (or choose to because i am the tank) to ignore the adds and focus on interrupting lunatic voice.

I do not think you should be questioning your ability to communicate with your party. That is fine.

But when I played World of Warcraft, there was always a divide between players. Some of these people would rather fail without being criticized. They don't care how bad they are doing, they do not want to be criticized.

I feel like some people think that I am making something out of nothing when I tell them the best policy for not being kicked from a party is to remain silent unless being kicked is worth it.

I was nice to people, before each fight I would explain the mechanics and everyone's role. "OK, tanks for this fight, please position the boss front away from the party. DPS, your job is to kill the ads, and during boss jumping phase stick on the marked person. At 50% you need to interrupt"

Its just after I spent the time explaining to everyone, nicely, I see a DPS ignoring ads, just sits there during jump phase without moving, not doing interrupts. At this point this person is either
1) trolling, or
2) doesn't understand something I said or a mechanic ... so I ask "does everyone understand their roles?" and I need a verbal confirmation before we continue if there are questions from everyone, because you are wasting other peoples time at that point.

Honestly our smooth run up to that point was largely because of me. I explained everything everyone should be doing in every phase, these people were all new to the dungeon, so we never wiped even with strange mechanics like 1st and 2nd boss (3rd boss is pretty easy and you can just roll your head across the keyboard). They may get lucky in the DF and get a healer who has done this before, or maybe they could read the mechanics I wrote and be able to follow them even after I was kicked, though they didn't when I was there, but otherwise they will fail the dungeon and their entire run will be a waste for no myths.

a Tank (WAR/PDL) can interrupt, PLD actually can do it off GCD, which is best. WAR is on gcd, and 20sec recast time, so it isn't ideal. Also, I explained the WAR about this and he wasnt' able to do it. 2 BRD's have interrupt OFF GCD, that is why they should both be paying attention, at least with 3 people it should get interrupted near 100%.

If you cant see why you didn't deserve to get booted maybe you should get off your high pedistal and learn what respect is...

This isn't correct actually. Paladin's stun is ON GCD, but no Cooldown. Spirits Within is an OFF GCD Silence, but 30s Cooldown. WAR has a stun, 20s Cooldown, but sorry, it's OFF the GCD. The only issue you should run into with a WAR stunning Voice, is after the third one due to Diminishing Returns.
