    Need Gearing Advice (WAR Tank)

My current gear setup is as follows:

Bravura Zenith, Hoplite Crown, Armor of Light, Heavy Darklight Plate Belt, Breeches of Light, Heavy Allagan Flanchard, Darklight Choker/Earrings/Bracelet/Band of Fending, and a Hoplite Ring. Don't laugh; I know it's crap, but I was kinda thrust into tanking more faster than I've been able to gear it.

I had been planning to exchange the Heavy Allagan Flanchard for a pair of Warrior's Jackboots, but I ended up 11 myth tomes short after capping this week (at 484). Next week will put me at 934 myth tomes, so I'm currently looking at my gear and wondering what I should get next.

Accessories aren't as big of an issue with me right now, so I've mostly been looking at my core armor pieces and wondering what would have the biggest impact. I'm thinking that the Warrior's Cuirass might be the best purchase, given what I have, but I wanted to seek some other opinions.

[EDIT] Forgot to mention that I have the Warrior's Gauntlets as my current glove-slot gear.

Id say focus on getting all slots to iLevel80-90 first. Then focusing on BiS. The hat is probably the first piece i will go for since its arguably one of the hardest piece to get in Coil.

Then replace your "of lights" with Coil and AF2 pieces while running Ultima to boost the accessories slot a bit and maybe EMs.

Its nice to have BiS/theorycrafted items - but your first priority should be to bring everything up to ilevel90 - first imho.

Armor of light helm and chest are OK to get over dark light, if your tanking coil. If running coil you need to keep accuracy in mind when upgrading.

The first upgrade i would go with would be the WAR af2 chest, and i would leave upgrading the helmet to a low priorty. This is mainly because of the accuracy the Hoplite circlet gives over the af2 helm, as Nicodareus mentioned, you need to keep accuracy in mind when running coil. AF2 chest provides accuracy, which the CT chest does not, solving many accuracy problems for you (which i went through... and it sucked).

Keep the Flanchard, its way better than Jackboots, especially now that accuracy isnt a problem (if you decided to buy the af2 chest and stick with the hoplite circlet). The remainder of your pieces, for BiS, come from coil, I would personally upgrade your Hoplite ring to a Hero's ring of Fending after your af2 chest, as that is the absolute BiS ring for tanks, and is a nice upgrade.

I highly suggest using xivdb.com and their wardrobe system to make a set of equipment you want to use, with these suggestions in mind. Remember to keep your accuracy 475+, but no more than 480 without food. I hope this helped.

If you can have an access with Dual Haken, it'll be a great help with your gearing as it provides a good amount of ACC.

With 934 myth, I'd go with upgrading your Hoplite ring to Hero's Ring of Fending and Darklight Plate Belt to Hero's Belt of Fending (both 375 myth). This will give you 4 strength 12 vitality 20 accuracy compared to Warrior's Cuirass which is 4 strength 6 vitality 24 accuracy. If 24 will make you over 475 for turn 1-4 or 484 for turn 5 then go with the chest piece. If not, I believe the ring and belt will serve you better.

I'd go for your Primal Weapon as a main priority, since you have Heavy Allagan Flanchard. Normally I'd suggest Myth ring first, but taking advantage of the Accuracy from Hoplite ring will actually be a benefit to you till you stabilize. Get the CT helm to replace your Hoplite Helm at the same time you get Warrior's Curiass. I'm assuming you are wearing Darklight gloves, and if you aren't you'll need to downgrade from CT to them to keep accuracy flowing.

As for Myth Spending = Warrior's Curiass (body) > Hero's Ring of Fending > Warrior Gauntlets > Warrior's Breeches (legs) > Warrior's Burgeonet (helm) = Hero's Belt of Fending *(This choice is up to you, I'd personally hope for T2 drop and get Warrior's Burg, but the belt is technically a larger upgrade if you still have Darklight)* > Whatever crappy accessories you want to upgrade with crappy myth accessories.

This all assumes you get Primal Weapon asap, and hold off on all CT pieces besides the helm to keep Accuracy high. Doing all this will put your Accuracy at 471 next week, and with food you'll be above cap. Then as you follow the upgrade path I put up, you'll get more wiggle room in accuracy pieces.

Get the AF2 helm. Hero Choker and farm Garuda Ex for the ring. That will be good enough to put 1-4 on farm mode. Then you can stock up on myth tokens until your party is ready for turn 5. Where you can replace any pieces you dont have yet using myh.

It's kinda funny, I started reading on here that Accuracy would be an issue for Wars, so I started planning around that. Before I knew it accuracy was 500 lol

Now that I have the accuracy, working on swapping Hoplite head with CT head (20+ runs no drop, War myth helm does not have parry), and getting the War myth gauntlets. I'd like to maximize parry, and determination needs a lot of love (sitting at 202).. I've debated saving for myth pants but not sure, nice parry and det stats which is what I'm looking to improve. Losing 43 accuracy hurts, though, really only 20 something with myth boots.

FC finally has enough people ready to run coil (starting this weekend, woo hoo!) so maybe I'll have some luck with those drops. Only thing that sucks is both of us need the loot lol.
