For floating names, there are currently options for spelling out the name or giving initials, but if we're going to see any part of the name, then we're always stuck with seeing everyone's Free Company as well. I'm very rarely interested in which FC somebody else is in (unless it's my own), and would really like the option to remove that from the floating name to reduce screen clutter.
To go along with this option, however, I'd still want a way to recognize when someone from my FC is around. Two possibilities for this: (1) Show floating names in a different color if they're in the same FC as me, or (2) along with that "show/hide FC" option I'm suggesting you add, include a third possibility of "show only if it's my FC".
Could we get a feature added to the chat log where the different tabs can have an indicator to show that something has appeared under that tab that hasn't been read yet? It would be nice to be able to keep each of my linkshells on separate chat log tabs, but I would need something to indicate when something new has been said in each of them.
If I make a Garuda/Titan EX farm party and say "must previously beaten the fight" in the comment, it is well within my right to queue for the next fight to ensure nobody is trying to slip through the cracks. If it's an Ifrit EX farm, I can ask that they show their weapon first to ensure that they have really cleared it. If they joined anyways hoping for a free carry, it is my right to kick them out of the group. And you know what? Absolutely nothing about any of that makes me an elitist.![]()

Can we please increase the max camera distance or have an option to increase it. Particularly playing primarily melee classes, its very annoying to have to turn my camera around every 5 seconds just to watch for a magic claw in crystal tower, or to see ifrit's charge on ultima weapon since the battlefield in those fights exceeds max camera distance.
I mentioned this in beta, still the same: targeting. Tab targeting seems to target mobs based on an arbitrary number, as opposed to targeting the nearest enemy for example. Clicking on a specific nameplate is nigh impossible if the mobs are clustered together. You have to click the exact right spot on a nameplate to target a mob, you can't click on the mob's model to target it. Very frustrating.
3 things that need to happen with Party Finder
- 'Apply for group' barrier for players that app
- Refresh button to update contents of window
- Allow Party leader to manual invite outside PF requirements.
chimera, hydra duties should not teleport you out after death
i mean, is there actually reason for just these 2 duties to work like that ?
you do not need to open the inventory, you just need to double click the item icon beside the quest and it'll be used. It's even more pronounced when the first quest you get is an item-use quest and you have to crack open your inventory to use it (eg dousing Amal'jaa in water) rather than being able to select it from the Duty List, but it's still a pain to have to refer to your journal for locations on the sixth quest each day.
They should bring back the countdown timer from 1.23

That's exactly my point. The first quest of the six beastman dailies isn't on the Duty Log, so you *can't* select the item icon beside it, so you have to go via the KI page on your inventory.

A lot of the time people are agreeing to lot on this or that job which they aren't using, when making pick up groups. And a lot of the times strangers just break the rules and steal the drops.
Wouldn't it be possible to bind our need/greed to a job of choice when entering the instance?
Say you go in, it asks what will you be lotting on, you go in as PLD but pick BLM, so you can only "need" on BLM gear.
