T5 on PS3

I've often heared people say that Twintania is impossible to kill on ps3. Why is that? There are even groups that will refuse to invite you for T5 if you play on console. I've never been there so I have no idea and am just curious. Can anyone tell if the statement is true and why?

We have a user on the ps3 in our turn 5 group. We haven't beaten her yet (only two good afternoons at it so far), but we are on phase 3 and making progress. Our ps3 user has in no way hindered the progress. If it's about controllers then it's even more pointless. I off tank on PC using a controller, and both our healers use controller. (One on PC the others on PS3) Seems like people needlessly segregating to me.

A couple members on my progression team are on PS3, including one of the best players in our FC. I can assure you that there is nothing about being on a PS3 that hinders game play. In fact, we even have PC players that opted to get controllers because it made maneuvering that much easier.

The whole PS3 thing is a lame excuse for people who can't get the job done.

As a PS3 player (can also play on PC, though sluggishly because of hardware), there's nothing inherently debilitating our ability to play effectively. That said, I haven't done T5 so yada yada, you get the point.

I've heard it's because we use controllers (which many PC players do, though the majority likely use mouse/kb), but I'd argue it has nothing to do with it, the only thing inhibiting some skill use is switching to the wrong cross bar on accident and the L1/LB auto run when adjusting the camera acting up since 2.1 released. Though you can as easily accidentally switch to the wrong bar when using multiple hotbars on a KB as well.

Hardware-wise the PS3 is perfectly capable of playing the game, it has frame rate limits on other player models and whatnot, yes, but the game runs smooth. Unless Twintania is a 24-man fight with 10+ mobs on screen in a large, detailed area (which I know it isn't), the PS3 has no issue.

If you want to acknowledge it or not, however slight, using a ps3 is putting oneself at a disadvantage. Load times and graphical latency. I also don't want to subject myself to do twintania with people on 2007 integrated graphics cards, and/or 4g mobile hotspots but i'm sure they COULD do it.

Then add the your guaranteed to be using a controller. There is a reason you can't play most xbox games with pc games... and its not that they don't have the technology. It's That the controller users get **** on.

While it may be an incredible accomplishment from someone overcoming a terrible situation, I would bet you would not want anyone forcing you to take people without hands on your turn 5 runs.

On a side note this video did make me consider getting foot pedals for ff14.

Also not saying there's anything wrong with playing on a ps3, just find like minded individuals to group with. Just don't blame people for not wanting to play with you.

The PS3 players in my FC have trouble dodging the dive bombs randomly at times. I'm almost positive it has something to do with graphical latency, we've put in enough time on divebombs to have the mechanics down fine, yet the two of them (in our first kill group) seem to randomly get hit with dive bombs. Past that though I would say its just fine, they rarely have trouble with conflags showing up.

I've heard some stuff about graphics and framerate issues, specially when dodging Divebombs. I've only attempted T5 on PC, so I can't say how bad it is on PS3 or even if it is bad at all. Never actually saw anyone saying the issue is about playing with controllers.

With that said, there are plenty of teams out there who clear T5 with PS3 players, so it's not like it's impossible.

Hilarious when a person in full i90 gear who has not killed twin yet says it's not holding them back....

A lot of it has nothing do with the graphics and stuff, only issues is loading screens and the animations seem off, but it looks funny on are screen at time . It how are isp runs through through the PSN (playstations network) that is the issue most of the time. Then trying run into square servers also. It put caps on your Isp speed for no reason, and EX. Try run a good engine car in a wall slowly to 100mph , then engine will hiccup. or keep slamming it back and forth at other speeds.
