To be honest I'm with the saints row idea of character design, anything goes. Ultimately you are creating a character to your tastes so nothing should restrict it for arbitrary reasons.
I totally agree with you. My issue is the fact that the female characters look like men in most of the heavy armor, now some might like that but i really don't. Again, i'm not asking for a chainmail bikini or even something revealing, just something to depict a male from a female would be nice. After seeing what a poor job was done with the beauty salon thingy, i don't have much hopes for this whole vanity slot thing being added. Quite frankly it has me pretty scared to be honest. Really hope they shock me on this because i don't like many of the art styles they used for most of the gear.

The skirt on darklight tanking plate doesn't bother me. Those are part of the upper body armor. But this skirt I'm referring to is attached to the pants. They're very different.

But it's not a male look, it's a "wears heavy armor" look. Any concession towards differentiating men and women wearing heavy armor would mean either less coverage for women, or plate breasts (which are lethal physically for its wearer). I rather we keep how it is now.

I don't see what difference it makes. A skirt is a skirt is a skirt.

Well sure that would be lethal but, fighting dragons are lethal no? Or primal beings? Or heck, even frogs big enough to swallow you whole. I mean, can we really go for realism with this game? We have cat people but yet... Still have cats..

I said the same thing at a wedding in Glasgow and as I said to the nurse later; it was not well received.

Well inside gaming realities (or norms...) plate-kinis seem like the way to go, why would everyone wear them if they were dangerous!?! >:O

The only issue I have is the Bard gear, it looks okay on Miqotes and Hyurs, but it looks ridiculous on Rodegan (spelling) males, its way to fanciful for such a large masculine figure. Especially the pink version lol .

The DRG armor changes for girls doesn't it? Belly exposure?

This is one of those cases of "you can't please everyone". In feminism itself, there is a debate of whether dressing scantily clad is empowering or not.

I know actual females that are annoyed with some of the design choices in female gear. Particularly the casting gear is pushing the overly modest envelope.

Honestly, vanity is the best way to find some middle ground between the two philosophies.

How about more "feminine" gear, but make it also "feminine" on the guys?

[edit] Usually when someone says they want more feminine looking gear, it means they want more revealing gear, because apparently feminine means "cut out random pieces of armor to expose a lot of skin". To that, I say: Only if its revealing on the guys, too.

You mean like this? I would kill for a model like that implemented for both men and women models.
