Scholar pulling aggro

Last week I've been running Garuda extreme with a few FC's and yes, I had a tanking problem which I want to share with the other PLD tanks over here, because I'm curious about your experiences and off course want to know if anyone has a solution for this.

So, at the start we were all buffing up, stoneskin, barier, etc. So when everyone was ready I started pulling Garuda. I'd hit 'fight or flight', threw a 'shieldlob' and before I could do anything else (like circle of scorn and fast blade), Garuda went straight to the Scholar and whiped us.. And yes, everyone got mad on my (the PLD tank) because I could not get aggro from Garuda.

This same situation happened 3 times in a row, so they've switched me as MT to OT..

..and now they are still blaming me for this

So, I would like to know from the other PLD in this game. Did this happen to you too and if not, how do you keep aggro if 'the boss' is going straight to the Scholar/Healer after a shieldlob?

Can't you use flash straight off for some quick emnity? I'm not a Pld, but I do play SCH, and I've never pulled hate off a tank unless they weren't using flash.

I generally 'flash' when there is more than 1 mob. Flashing 1 mob/boss is useless, because any other skills generates more enmity (to single targets).

I don't know all the skills from a scholar since my main is PLD and sub WHM (just reached lvl 50). But I do know that the Scholar always start with a shield thing that generates HP and reduces DMG for 25/30 seconds, which could be Succor or Adloquium. Does it generate enmity?

It does if they cast it as you pull. The spell is half-shield, half-heal. While the shield itself doesn't generate enmity (until it's hit, anyway), the heal portion will put them on the threat table.

You couldn't aggro garuda or you couldn't get aggro FROM garuda? I only want to clarify to make sure we're talking about a SCH and not a SMN.

yes, it should be I couldn't aggro Garuda, because she goes straight to the SCH after a 'shieldlob' (from distance).

forgot shield oath ? it happens sometimes XD

now on a more serious note, add bloodbath to your pull rotation, the overheal from it helps a lot
fight or flight, bloodbath, shield lob, circle of scorn, fast blade, silence, rest of halone combo

oh yes, bloodbath is a good idea, thanks. I will at that to my rotations.

But I still don't understand how a SCH can pull aggro right after a shieldlob. I didn't even got hit by the boss nor did I have the chance to hit the boss with another skill, because of the distance and GCD..

I'd just read that succor won't generate enmity until the tank has taken any damage, so it could not be succor.
