Listen to the music in "Before Meteor". The city music for Ul'dah.... sooooo much better. The HM music is Haukke Manor's music from 1.0.

They actually do... kinda. It's the same melody but the instruments change (most notably the wind instrument at the start). Thanalan is a whistle, while one of the other two are a horn. Coerthas and Mor Dhona also have their own versions. Still, it's such a minuet difference.Whats the point in beautiful surroundings in the world when no one remains in it long enough to respect or enjoy it, I think for me I beat the entire story in less than a week and that was it, done game over, never need to re visit those areas again.
The only fights that get there own battle theme songs now are the primals, I don't even think Uldah, Grid and Limsa have there own individual battle theme songs anymore.. I liked those.
Just more evidence displaying ARR's seriously lacking verity in content.
I always find these pots funny because they are usually from people that have never played WoW but want to jump on the hate train.
Yes please dont make this game like WoW:
WoW has quest that consist of doing more than kill these mobs or collect these items a hundred times..oh and run/port back to this same NPC 5 times.
WoW has a tradeskill system that actually works and a functioning economy. This game does not and probably never will have that.
WoW has stable servers and connections. If you go look at the tech support forums you will see that many, many people are dealing with rubberbanding.
WoW has forum moderators and customer service that actually reply on the forums.
WoW has a billion things to do end game.
WoW has PvP that actually works and is somewhat balanced.
WoW tells us what our stats actually mean.
*This subscription based game has character limits on their forums......what a joke.
I played WoW for 8 years. I have been playing this game for one month and I have dealt with more children and elitist then I ever did in WoW...using the word elitist in this game is hilarious because none of the content is hard. I have been dealing with DPS that can't move out of stuff more than I have in any other game.
*You may not like(you probably never even tried playing it, it's just cool to hate these days) but WoW is a well made MMO. You should give it a shot before bashing it.
I like this game as well, but I hope they make some changes.

Yes, but every time they fixed PvP. They broke a class for PvE.WoW has PvP that actually works and is somewhat balanced.
Don't really think that is so important. Having to use once own brain in the game to figure out what gear to use isn't a bad thing.WoW tells us what our stats actually mean.
Agree, at least on customer support.WoW has forum moderators and customer service that actually reply on the forums.
Fixed the sentence for you.*You may not like(you probably never even tried playing it, it's just cool to hate these days) but WoW was a well made MMO. You should give it a shot before bashing it.
As it is now, it has turned too much to a lobby game for me.
Yea thats cool. Ill go grind a million mobs and make a spreadsheet so I can figure out percentages. That makes sense. Or they could just...show us the numbers instead of hiding them. Clearly by that response you don't get what stats I am talking about. WoW being called a lobby game is funny, because last I looked everyone is standing in RT waiting on party/duty finders. No class has EVER been broken in WoW PVE due to PVP. They may have been nerfed but they were always viable in PVE. Come back when you know what you are talking about. You just want to disagree, but your points for doing so kinda suck.Yes, but every time they fixed PvP. They broke a class for PvE.

**Don't get me wrong I really want this game to succeed. This game has some very awesome aspects and thats why I left WoW to play this. But we can't be blind and hate on a game where it has tools that would be very helpful in this game. Primal fights are awesome imo, and the music for Titan rocks. The crafting could be very awesome with some tweaking. The problem is everyone can craft everything. That should have never been allowed. A new system needs to be implemented badly.

Tell that to the Shamans. Or Warlocks.. I think, was a few years ago.No class has EVER been broken in WoW PVE due to PVP.
They were not broken, they were nerfed and complained forever. They were still completely viable and still did the needed dmg/healing. I was a resto shaman at the time in PVP. We were OP.....I was a tank basically. But anyway this thread is silly, I just wanted to point out some facts. Everyone have fun gaming!
**People always complain when they are nerfed. Good players overcome the nerf...bad players cry about it.
You misunderstood me.Well, to try and make my point even clearer, what I said was "Why would they want to make FFXIV even more like FFXI, they would just be competing with themselves for subs" Thats all I said. It was through that that assumptions were made. Yes, FFXIV is competing with FFXI for subs, it was inevitable to the extents I outlined in the previous comment which echo all the points you made, please read them again and understand them. But to make it even more like FFXI would be competing with themselves for subs
I was very clear in my previous post, I dont know why you are still coming back here and trying to make it sound like I meant something else. I was not saying they made it more like WoW, the only reason I brought that up is because is because you did, yet you continue to ignore facts that disagree with your position.
Also, I am not saying that features from FFXI might not be good or beneficial, I did say that people need to be clearer about what they want if they would like a hope in hell of getting it. Rather than the ambiguous "make FFXIV more like FFXI" why not say clearly the things you would like to see. Other posters have done it, in this very thread even. Like i said, it would be futile to try and explain myself.
Even going by your logic of "they are already taking sub from FFXI" what do you think "making it even more like FFXI" would end up doing? Would it stop the ebb of subscribers from leaving FFXI? That is what it sounds like you are saying by arguing with my comment.
EDIT:
Just for clarity and to save time trying to find it again, this is the post I was referring to. Once again, I did not bring WoW or any other game into the conversation until you did.
I didn't mean to say you brought up WoW. And that post you linked was not what I was referring to. I was saying you brought up the reasoning that they designed Final Fantasy 14 the way they did because they did not want to compete with themselves for subscriptions.
My point was that they already are competing with themselves for subscriptions. So I don't think that was a good reason to completely abandon 11's design and instead imitate WoW's.
You obviously disagree. And that is fine![]()

I liked the Samurai analogy.I would be fine with XI's population moving to XIV if the reason was because FFXIV actually had similar content available for us but the fact is right now it's just destroying everything we care about in terms of MMO's and gameplay. I don't want to be pushed into the shadows because casuals have changed everything I enjoyed when I have been in love with this game since day one, long before they entered the picture.
Would a samurai change his beliefs simply because guns were created? ?
It would have been nice if Final Fantasy 14 had remained true to its predecessor and given its fans a new place to go. Sadly that didn't happen though. And SE decided we needed yet another WoW imitator to choose from... as if the MMO market isn't already stale enough with WoW wannabes.
