FFXIV to FFXI

Those saying "get over it" and "go play XI" -- why do you think XI is continuing to thrive while XIV is on the inevitable course with being sold or closed down? People did "get over" it not being XI, hence why no one is playing this game as they should be, because the fact that XI exists and XIV exists in it's current state is a pretty big reason people say XIV "should/need/etc to borrow from XI", not a clone, but actually evolve from what it's done to become a bigger and better game.

^This. I'm tired of people saying that FFXIV =/= FFXI. We know that but it wouldn't be a reskinned game to have the same game mechanics but within a new world/new storyline/new bad guy etc...

I would trade FFXIV for a 'new FFXI' anytime with respect to what we have now, minor the huge annoying time sink there was. On the same idea, I wouldn't have FFXI with updated graphics for sure either because I know the story, have finished most of them (quit before they release the WoTG new missions).

Same classes and game mechanics (combat, improved UI from the very functionnal FFXI one) doesn't mean FFXIV = FFXI. I would also tarde anyday my harlequin's parts for some RDM AF's part and not look like a clown anymore >.>
