I've been trying to motivate myself to go but, after watching videos on T1-T2, ugh.....it looks so...so...boring.......
Unless you're stacking classes I don't see how there would be drama over the loot.

My husband and I will most likely end up being like this. We came back a month before the patch and started catching up. Our FC is small and most of it's members are either not ready for coil yet, or already in a static. ALL party finder groups I see for coil do not welcome beginners, and since we haven't done it before it is a bit intimidating to try to learn when no one really has any patience. We have had quite a few problems with the DF, elitists and people that... obviously can't have fun or help others while running the higher lvl content. We have used duty finder so much for everything so far, but I think this content would be more fun with fun people we can learn and grow with. So we will most likely be a while for coil while we try to meet people to form a static with. Getting loot would be great.... but our priority is having fun with it. ^^

Most PUGs requiring experience scares newbies who don't have an FC or static from even trying them in the first place.
At least for stuff like Titan HM, you can always duty finder for practice.

because my drg af+1 gear skin is much much much x 1000 cooler than drg allagan skin (oh pls dun even start comparing the helm and the tiny allagan mask skinwise)

-shrugs- Simply not interested in coil. The armor doesn't look so good that I feel the need to grind for it
This for sure. Can't remember the last time I saw a shout or something in the party finder for Coil that was new/inexperienced player friendly. Every party finder listing is, "Experienced only. We will not explain your role. You will be kicked if you don't know what to do." For people with small FCs, missing out on an FC static, or play at off times, your only choice is looking for PUGs. And when no PUGs are new/inexperienced player friendly, you grind your tomes and gear up that way.
Unlike us "hardcore gamers" not everyone is going to be willing to wear 2 different kinds of armor set and look like a complete tool just to get a few extra points in whatever irrelevant stat it is. Min/maxing isn't that important and the main reason to have both Myth and Allagan gear mixed is to get enough Acc to beat Coil, which not everyone wants to do. Not everyone cares about running raids for loot, nor is everyone capable of clearing Coil.
Like someone else mentioned, some people feel intimidated to do Coil, too. I, for one, didn't do Coil until I had a few Myth pieces because I was worried about ruining runs for everyone and I don't have an FC I can run with.
I don't really get the point of this thread. "Oh, hey. Look at all these players who don't take this game as serious as all of us. We is so cool because we have 5 more Crit than everyone else!"? Allagan gear is kind-of unnecessary for anything outside Coil.
Moogle: Black Mage ftw.

Here's a link to a bunch of rotation and DPS numbers I wrote up to try help BLM see they aren't as weak as they might think.
Yeah dude clearly we do coil so we can stand next to you looking so much cooler with that 5 extra crit.
Gear, gear, gear, ofcourse you dont get the point if thats all you think about. People should do coil because its a new experience for them. Because it is an actual challenge and a goal. You're trying really hard to be a nice guy..why would we care if people only play half the game? Clearly that makes me the mean tryhard because i like to do everything the game has to offer while half the people here dont see the point in it because the loot isnt 'worth' it.
