So are Crafting + Gathering jobs now -just- "support" jobs?

With only some hundreds of regular players left, they need to focus on bringing back the majority with as little resources spent as possible in case the game completely fails. Crafter-only players are most likely a tiny minority they are happy to sacrifice concentrate on problems that bother 99% of the rest more than additions to the parley system.

In no way, shape or form does calling them support classes imply this. They ARE support classes because they lend SUPPORT to the battle classes.

But how does a gatherer lend to battle class? Gatherers lend support to DoH which supports battle classes.

well they support them indirectly, without the DoL gathering mats the chain is broken and the DoW/DoM ends up unsupported.

I'm disappointed in the direction SE has gone with crafter/gatherers. It just feels like they set up this game to let crafters be an actual class, but fell way short on the execution.

I want to see DOL/DOH engaged in battle and missions alongside DOM/DOW. That doesn't mean they have to be as powerful, just be able to contribute something useful. It was an interesting idea with a lot of potential they used to lure players (like me) into purchasing the game... Only to find out that the promises they made weren't kept.

Well, bad luck. The Japanese version of the interview is unusually clear: No main storyline progression without battle class. Looks like they are trying to cut down the issues to a more manageable number.

Um yeah, they've always been support classes.

think they should keep adding quest in guild but other then that yeah support is what crafting should be in imo
