Degradation of humanity in general?

Seems like alot more people are turning into trolls now in any run. 4man you really don't notice it as bad, but when running things like CT, it truly seems to bring out the worst in people. Tanks who refuse to wait for parties, people who are new asking for boss fight mechanics to be told (I have macros, yes they do seem to spam chat from time to time, but it details the mechanics quickly), and namecalling in general have just reached absurd levels as of recently. I know every MMO will have its community of trolls, but this is just getting out of hand lately.

Its not that big a problem, Ofc in 24 man content your going to have some less then steller individuals, but hey, you get your loot and your done.

Theres no reason someone new to lvl 50 would pass up a free 80 piece a week. Sure it helps to watch a vid tho.

For some weird reason (from my experience) anyone new or anyone who makes any mistakes are considered a "troll". I've had actual trolls in CT where they just run in and pull every time without anyone there or any ready check - and when you tell them "don't do that" they just keep doing it. But if it's just someone asking you how the boss fight works or accidentally pulling something then it's understandable. That kind of stuff happened in CM all the time and nobody called those people trolls there.

Only thing I've noticed in CT is if an alliance isn't as good as others, instead of trying to help them out the others alliances spend the whole time mocking them and calling them idiots. Only happened once out of 10 CT's or so but I'm guessing its happening a lot for other people.

I've had one summoner trolling today by baiting monsters with Titan then taking it far from the party. We kicked him.

But yeah I've noticed it too... playing MMORPGs just isn't like before.

It seems a few people are missing the topic i ment. What i'm saying is the higher geared people are rushing everyone, being asshats to everyone, and anyone who doesn't know the fight they try to purposely kill. For example, tanks who run in on thanatos while first timers are still reading my macros, and locks them out, then proceed to call them "noobs who shouldnt be in their run". It's very disappointing that experienced players aren't willing to take time and help the newer ones. Yes watching a video or two does help, and yes not being an ass does help as well. But mistreating other players just because they aren't going to your own pace? That's just depressing that people feel the need to treat others that way.

What I notice is that the overall MMO community is getting more and more rude. I'm not saying everybody were kind and friendly in the past, but being an a-hole used to be the exception not the rule. For example, I open the party finder in Odin and the kind of texts I see there... usually I don't give a damn if people insult or just decide to "troll", I know better than to feed them, but it's going over the top now. Unnecessary insults and name calling are more and more common. Many people use "f*king" as if it were "good morning", to the point I ask myself if they even remember what it means.

It's not a case of grow a thicker skin, but to keep the at least the basic manners. You don't know the other person, you have no idea who you are insulting, you're just, simply insult. Maybe I'm just getting old, but sometimes I wonder why I'm still playing MMO's.
