    Why do you need gil and I use need loosely there?

    Travel
    Housing
    Repair gear

    Amount of gil from doing content is currently greater then any need so extra gil is being made.

    Why do you want gil?

    For crafting.
    Carries threw places you can't make it threw.
    Can't wait on needs.


    People need to look at crafting as a hobby not a way to make gil.
    It's something extra to do, and like hubbies in real life you are going to sink a lot of time and IG money into with little to show for. Unless like IRL you are a hobbiest that take it to the next level and where you start making gil off of it.

    I farm 90% of the items I need/leveling all craft slowly.
    I have over 1.5m gil

    My hubby who spammed cloth who farmed only cloth main items and paid for everything else on the AH has about 500k.

    Commendations.
    If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
    If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
    If I play healer I only give it out to tank.

    Only if they should be getting a commendation.
    There are always exceptions to the rules!

    I have an idea... Ok tell me what you guys think about this...

    In the first expansion, release lots of new craftable gear at certain levels, even a few high level crafts that are actually low level items, and in doing so raise the cap of crafting to say 70, but make it that you can only take one of your crafts to 70... Within new expansions and releases continue to up the crafting level, but remain only able to have one craft to that level...

    This way everyone can't just make everything if they wanted to, they will be force to choose which craft they really like... That being said, there will be a more desire for a certain craft, cause there isn't a man, or woman, that can just make everything themselves. This will make crafters actually need help from other crafters.

    Stop selling gathering/crafting materials at vendors, all of the new materials they added to the beastman vendors crashed the markets for the crafts (and materials themselves) related to the items.

    If you make things with high market value quest rewards, make the item untradable.

    Stop having maps drop x9 of the philo tome bought items. People already had lots of points to blow and it helped us to make money, now with the tresure maps dropping x9 of a single bought item such as potash the market has tanked. The maps also tanked the rose gold/gold and darksteel markets. All this stuff for making housing furniture and its worthless. Make the furniture we buy for our house, when we save enough to get it, worth stats, even little ones. Like durability loss or enhanced crafting in the house, anything to make this stuff worth it!

    Let my all my gear be convertible for meteria. If there were a steady supply of materia people would use it more, instead its near impossible to get some of the IV materia and the prices are all over the place. Vit 4 on my server is 100k, but because of the new quest rewards stuff like Savage Aim or Quicktounge is now only 5k...

    Undercutting is a sign of a troubled economy. You can't penalize people for trying to make money, you go after the government to have them change their systems, because clearly they are destroying the economy. In this case, you go after SE, since they are the government in this situation, which is what this thread is all about.

    1) Remove all crafting related items from NPC's. This forces gathering of all kinds of materials, and players making gil instead of NPC's. Find a gil sink to replace this that doesn't take away from gatherer's making profits.

    2) Make all crafts harder to HQ. For any crafter with most jobs leveled (which is also now way too easy to do), there is a combination that literally lets you HQ 2-star crafts 100% with NQ materials. As someone who does this myself, I literally never buy HQ materials because there is no point for me. The HQ material market needs to be made viable again.

    Also, give more uses to the "very rare drops" like ADS plate, vortex feathers etc. like, for example, ilvl 90 crafted armor that requires those. Infernal armor from ifrit, Storm armor from Garuda... you know, that sort of stuff. This would make people spend more gil and would add something extremely rare for players to strive for.
