If you don't need mage ballad or the TP song... use requiem. I love it when you do that. It's just so good to pop RS and dot a boss affected by x2 requiem and then use contagion. God. I love it.
How do you guys get 30%? It would only be 20% per magic DPS and that is with battlevoice. Don't go crazy with that figure either, it would only be up for 30 seconds and you got to divide that avantage by the whole party, you'll be lucky to get a 3-4% DPS boost from the whole battle.

Not just this, outside of boss fights, the Requiem will grab anything within hearing distance of it straight towards the Bard. Used it once in AK, I was grabbing the aggro of the enemies before the tank ever did just because the mobs HEARD the song. How do you guys get 30%? First note that he mentioned it increases the magic DPS's value by 30%How do you guys get 30%? It would only be 20% per magic DPS and that is with battlevoice. Also, it's a reduction in enemy defense, the larger the enemy magical defense is, the more powerful Foe Requiem is. Normally it's worth it in caster-heavy parties, like SMN/BLM/BLM/BRD
Requiem lower the magic def by 10%, which can result in a 15% dmg buffHow do you guys get 30%? It would only be 20% per magic DPS and that is with battlevoice. Well, if you're not aware enough in your surrounding and just turning it on the whole time and not just in safe spot, you're doing it wrong.
Long story short, whether there's only one DPS caster around or your Healer is doing some DPS, it is always good to cast Foe Requiem.
Right, but, he said 4 mans. I've never once that I can recall needed to ballad in a 4 man.
As noted in the OP, the 10% reduction for whatever reason seems to be a 15% damage increase, 30% with BV. And most burn phases don't last that long. Heck, if we're talking 4-mans, most boss fights only last 2 minutes or less with the gear levels people have now.How do you guys get 30%? Learn the dungeon, learn where you can and can't sing. Too easy.
You use Foe's Requiem during Burst DPS Phases like Titan Heart, Dreadnoughts, Snakes, and etc. Or you use it to finish something off for an execute or kill-shot. I would only Battle Voice Foe's Requiem if you have another bard or if the healer's MP is above 80%, since it does have a 3 minute recast time.So the question I have is when do we use it? With a long cast time, and toxic mana drain, do we need to precast then drop then recast and drop when someone in the group is going to use abilities this will enhance? If I leave it on for any duration of time, my mana goes kaboom, and I have nothing left for more of this or for ballad. Just curious.
