FF8 and Especially FFX would like to talk to you as two of the worst FF games ever made ( To Me! TIDUS is a punk just like Hope in FF12 I could not stand those clowns and wished we could just kill em off early). Really those games were just that bad!

Lolwut? Sure FF8 has divided opinions because of the gameplay but everything else about it was much better than XIII, with one of the best stories in the entire series!

The whole FFX crew except Yuna, LuLu, and Kihmari (the tiger guy), were annoying as hell! FF8 And FF13 and all of its sequels were just plain awful. FF10 could have been great but alot of the characters in there made me hate it!

FFXIV is always going to have a hard time gaining market share against Blizzard, Bethesda, and the like. It has a few very unique things going for it the greatest of which is the title and the history that comes with it. It would seem silly to me not to take advantage of nostalgia by allowing us to interact with past Final Fantasy stories and worlds or at least the themes of those worlds.

That being said Eorzia needs to tell it's own story at the same time, and including the likes of Sephiroth, Kefka, Cloud, and Terra would be immersion breaking to say the least. There is always the inter dimensional rift from FF5 that links all the FF universes though it hasn't been explained in much detail beyond cameos and Dissidia.

The best way I see it working out is us going to them, Primal style fights or maybe a dungeon here and there going into a past game. Hopefully taking pains to make it go along with the real story and not just dropping us into a fight that never could have happened. Things like dropping into FF7's world during Jenovas first outbreak and helping the weakened Cetra contain it, or helping the SEEDs in Ultemecia's future before the whole space/time wedgie. Keep us waaay in the background so we get our fan service without mucking up the story of the old games. It would be harder to do in the older games since there where less out of focus story events but I'm sure they could get creative.

Just set that up in fashion similar to the Caverns of Time from WoW, and for really the same reason now that I think of it, nostalgia and fan service. Hopefully with no silly memory erasing dragons, and no setting horrible events into motion for odd time travel reasoning. (Hated having to save Thrall and Medivh I was an Alliance hero for goodness sakes.)

Just thought of something, Shinryu and Omega are supposed to be two of the few creatures that are the same entity across all dimensions. Since Promathia became a draconic critter named Shinryu after absorbing the player and Selh'teus in an alternate Vanadiel, is that Shinryu's origin?

I'd prefer they keep it down with the crossovers.
Lightning was pushing it and the Shantotto event is just crazy. Heck, if they did bring him in (and I REALLY don't want them to) it should only be a temporary event. But God help me if they have his stupid hair or coat as a prise.

Having Sephiroth's hair in the game as a prize from a temporary event would never happen, simply because SE doesn't want to bother with hair styles that get THAT long.

It's Hydaelyn, it's been said since the start of the game V.1, FFXIV started with it's own realm. Every cameo and stuff are just Yoshida team using Fanservice to take the easy way.
Some are introduced in the game the smart way, like the crytsal tower or magitek armor taking a real part in the lore, other are just here to be here with no real reason like Lightning was. ("He wanted me to be here" ...why?!)

Also every FF was different, trying to tell wich one had the best story is stupid, it depend on the person that played. To me FF8 one of the best, 9 and 6 being the best and 12 didn't even exist, but that goes only for me.
People need to stop thinking the way they see the world is how everyone should.
