Considering how horrid ARR's launch was and the incessant bitching that came with it, are you really surprised to see them being careful this time around?Or they can just do what virtually every other developer does when hyping up and releasing content and actually make the content accessible, and if it breaks, fix it. Instead of carefully spoonfeeding it to us hoping it doesn't break. You don't stress test something by making it so only 1 group will get a house every one and a half weeks.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
After that debacle, I'd expect them to dump copious amounts of money into their data centers to ensure they can handle anything thrown at them instead of continually trying to skate by on the minimum they can get away with (if even that).
Honestly, had the game launched perfectly, I could actually kind of understand them being spending conservatively at this point or releasing and having major issues.
Because they've already been burned on these fronts though (and badly at that), it's unreasonable that they haven't changed their approach.

Well sqenix just set the precedent that they will cave to whiners. GG
/flushes the game down the casual toilet
Because that worked so well for the release of 2.0, right? Do you know how many people were pissed because they couldn't even log in?

If I may put on my tinfoil hat for a moment, I'm guessing someone above YoshiP and the devs is probably controlling how much the devs spend, specially taking into account how much SE has already spent on ARR (regardless of its success).

Unless it's free, they're going to complain. If it was free, they'd complain that it's too easy to get. If it costed 1mil gil, that'd be too much and would also incite complaints by those who feel that they suffered blood, sweat, and tears just to achieve 10k gil. That last part is actually a true thing btw... and there's a lot of them out there.

People, stop being mean to SE... they are just a small mom and pop store trying to accommodate all these people. It's not like they have done this before... not like this is some big corporate outfit... this is your local good old fashioned family outfit!
Ya'll just stop hatin on them, now! They are really nice people, and there's no way they could test this kind of thing! This is all new and unheard of before!
Awww shucks, guys! Let's all send them extra with our subscription this month, just to show that we care!!
