What's harder Twintania or Titan?

I feel like Twintania is more difficult overall because it features more complicated mechanics, a fairly big DPS skill/gear check, heavy tank damage, and a number of RNG-influenced mechanics.

Titan's difficulty is a completely different kind. The mechanics themselves are incredibly simple. Stack on top of each other for most of the fight and move out of bad stuff. Have gaoled people run in opposite directions. Don't get hit by bombs. Everything is on a static rotation and RNG plays very little into the fight. On top of that, the DPS check is fairly lenient and the damage is very predictable and easy to heal through.

Titan, however, is far more *punishing* in that any screw-up by any person at any time during the ~9 minute fight can very easily ruin the entire run, whereas Twintania allows for much more room for error. Someone getting hit by a divebomb, or someone eating an egg outside of a neurolink, or a tank getting oneshot by DS during the conflag phase... all of these can be recovered from. But if a tank or healer gets knocked off in Titan, or a DPS eats a bunch of stacked plumes and causes the healer to explode in a gaol because he couldn't be broken out fast enough, then the run is pretty much over, or at least made *much* more difficult.

I still say Twintania is a lot harder especially with the the inability to cast Virus and Rain Of Death (version 2.0) makes a new challenge to manage Death Sentence and Fireball.

Twintania gear check is way stricter than Titan Ex.

What makes Titan Ex difficult is because of the area constrain that strangles you in a small area of movement for dodging purposes so it requires lots of coordination. But once you understand the sequence of mechanics, it gets very much easier to dodge them with the given area.

Twintania is definitely harder, it has a higher gear requirement, dps checks, party hp checks, tank checks, healing checks, group coordination checks, the fight is also longer which means its more likely to have screw ups. That said, the mechanics are less punishing.

Needing more numbers doesn't make anything harder(Gear checks). Both have simple mechanics.
Only problem here is if everyone could just keep their focus for 9-15 minutes...

Titan EX just because it's more fast paced and more unforgiving.

Titan EX is fun, just get familiar with the music. Just like dancing, you will know which skill Titan is going to use by just listening to the music. I've done so much Titan HM before 2.1 on all jobs/roles and I'm real familiar with the fight by just paying attention to what I hear, when I tried Titan EX for the first time, it was a big mind f*ck when I saw him used Mountain Buster on the first phase with the wrong music. And when he summoned the potatoes after the heart phase when it should have been Mountain Buster.

I haven't beaten either yet, but so far we've spent less time and gotten farther on Titan EX than Twintania.
Titan EX just seems more doable.

It might be perhaps because there are few new mechanics on Titan after doing HM whereas every phase of Twintania is something new to learn and wipe to.

Without a doubt, Twintania. Both fights require proper execution from everyone in the group, but that's all that titan has. Twintania has random factors to it that can make a clean run go south quickly, and an always present threat of a tank insta-death.
